Lions Could Address Defense With Both First-Round Picks
2 years agoThe Detroit Lions could take defenders with both of their first-round picks (Nos. 6 and 18) in this year's draft. General manager Brad Holmes addressed the secondary in free agency by signing safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and cornerbacks Cameron Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley, but they still have holes to fill on defense. It wouldn't be surprising if they took Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter at No. 6 if he's available. Even though they drafted Aidan Hutchinson at No. 2 overall in 2022, it won't keep them from taking another defensive end early in this year's draft. Sources say they have a high grade on Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson. ESPN's Matt Miller considers Wilson to be the second-best edge rusher in this draft class, although he could be a bit of a reach at No. 6 overall.
