Kevin Cron With Team In L.A.
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Kevin Cron (hamstring), who is dealing with a sore left hamstring, traveled with the team to Los Angeles for their exhibition game. It doesn't sound like a very serious injury, so Cron should be on the club's Opening Day roster, barring a setback. The 27-year-old right-handed power hitter hit just .211 with six home runs and 16 RBI in his first 78 plate appearances in the big leagues last year, but he hit .331 with 38 home runs and 105 RBI in 82 games for Triple-A Reno and has immense power upside in a good hitter's park in Arizona. He might platoon at designated hitter with Jake Lamb, but that'll still give him power appeal in deep mixed and NL-only leagues.
