Keibert Ruiz Sent to the Hospital for a CT Scan
Keibert Ruiz (head) had to be sent to the hospital for a CT scan after he was struck in the head by a foul ball while he was in the dugout on Monday night. In the fourth inning, Josh Bell fouled a hard line drive into the Nats' dugout, which ricocheted off the back wall and struck Ruiz in the side of the head. Manager Davey Martinez said that Ruiz had a lump on the side of his head and that he was "a little bit concerned." Ruiz could end up on the 7-day concussion IL at least, and if that's the case, the Nats would likely recall Drew Millas from Triple-A to platoon with Riley Adams. Adams is hitting just .097 in his 22 games in the majors this season, but does have three home runs. Ruiz is hitting .247 with two homers and a .265 wOBA in his 66 games, but he may be forced to miss time after this flukey injury.
