Julio Jones Making Progress
4 years agoAtlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said that wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) is "making progress" and will do individual workouts in practice on Thursday. Jones sat out in Week 3 and returned in Week 4, but he aggravated the same hamstring injury he's been fighting through since training camp and is now in danger of missing the Week 5 contest against the Panthers. It's a good sign that the 31-year-old All-Pro is practicing, but he might still be a long shot to play this Sunday. Have a backup plan in place in case Jones doesn't make enough progress by Sunday. Calvin Ridley, who killed his fantasy managers with zero catches on Monday night, will be a must-start, regardless of whether Jones plays. Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus would also see increased opportunities if Jones misses his second game of the season.
