Julio Jones Facing Uphill Battle To Play In Week 5
4 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) aggravated the hamstring injury that kept him out in Week 3 in the Monday night loss to the Packers, and it's hard to imagine him being ready for Week 5 against the Panthers on a short week. Jones caught all four of his targets for 32 yards on Monday, but he came down awkwardly in the first half and didn't return after halftime. Fantasy managers should have an alternate plan in place already if Jones can't get on the practice field this week. If he misses another game, it'll mean more looks for Calvin Ridley, who will be looking to bounce back after a donut on Monday night, tight end Hayden Hurst and young wideouts Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus. Zaccheaus led the Falcons in receiving against Green Bay, but he'll be more of a flex in deeper leagues against Carolina if Jones misses another game.
