2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol announced on Thursday that left-hander Jose Quintana will start Game 1 of the Wild-Card Series at home against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. The 33-year-old veteran left-hander began the 2022 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates but was acquired by the Cardinals in a trade. In total, he went 6-7 with a 2.93 ERA (2.99 FIP), a 1.21 WHIP and a 137:47 K:BB in 165 2/3 innings over his 32 starts with the Bucs and Cards. In his 12 starts for St. Louis, he went 3-2 with a 2.01 ERA (2.60 FIP), 1.12 WHIP and 48 K's in 62 2/3 frames. Quintana made just one start against Philly this year and tossed 5 2/3 shutout frames while allowing four hits, walking two and striking out four.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
