Jordan Westburg Diagnosed With Hand Fracture
5 months agoUpdating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hand) has been diagnosed with a right-hand fracture after being hit by a pitch in Wednesday's win over the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays, according to manager Brandon Hyde. The Orioles are hoping Westburg will be back by the end of the regular season. Even if the 25-year-old returns late in the regular season, he'll have little time to produce for fantasy managers. It's a big blow for the O's and fantasy managers, as Westburg came into Wednesday's contest with a .271/.317/.500 slash line with an .817 OPS, 18 homers, 58 RBI, 54 runs and six stolen bases in 388 at-bats. Baltimore traded infield prospect Connor Norby to the Marlins on Tuesday, so Coby Mayo, their No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will now be in consideration to join the big-league roster.
