Jonathan India Starting On Bench Against Braves
1 year agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India will start on the bench on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. India deserves a day of rest after starting the last 49 games for the Reds. He's also cooled off offensively, going 6-for-39 (.154) with three home runs, six RBI and 11 strikeouts in the last 10 games. Overall, though, the 26-year-old second baseman is having a fine season by hitting .261 (77-for-295) with 10 home runs, 17 doubles, 40 RBI, a career-high-tying 12 stolen bases and 58 runs scored in 342 trips to the plate and a league-high 77 games played. Matt McLain will start at second base on Sunday and hit second against Braves right-hander Charlie Morton. India should be back in the starting lineup on Monday for the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
