Jets Sticking With Adam Gase, Sam Darnold
4 years agoNew York Jets general manager Joe Douglas said that head coach Adam Gase is part of the solution to New York's problems. The Jets are the worst team in football at 0-8 and Gase has been on the hot seat for some time. Douglas also praised quarterback Sam Darnold's toughness and remains committed to him despite his struggles with a revolving cast around him on offense. "I have no problem saying that he is our best quarterback and our quarterback for the future," Douglas said. Douglas also shot down rumors of shopping tight end Chris Herndon, who has underperformed in 2020 as well. Darnold aggravated his shoulder injury in Week 8 but will attempt to play through it. In his defense, the talent at the skill positions around him is severely lacking, but the signal-caller has also regressed in many areas in 2020. He's a low-end QB2 for Week 9 against the Patriots on Monday night.
