The Atlanta Braves have recalled veteran reliever Jesse Chavez from Triple-A Gwinnett. In corresponding moves, the team optioned left-hander Dylan Dodd to Triple-A and transferred starter Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. The 41-year-old Chavez last appeared in a game for Atlanta in late April. In 30 2/3 minor league innings so far this season, he's recorded a 2.05 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with a 19.2% K-BB%. Chavez has pitched in the majors for the Braves in each of the last five seasons and should be called upon to eat innings in middle relief.--Will Brady
