Jamaal Williams 2024 Outlook: Likely Buried On Depth Chart After Disastrous First Season With Saints
7 months agoNew Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams enjoyed a monster 2022 season with the Detroit Lions, rushing for over 1,000 yards and leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns (17). However, his first season in the Big Easy did not go as planned, and he could open the season as the team's RB3. In 13 games last year, the 29-year-old rushed 106 times for 306 yards (2.9 YPC) and one touchdown and caught 18 passes for 62 yards. He was a non-factor for the Saints and in fantasy football, and second-year running back Kendre Miller is likely to play a bigger role behind starter Alvin Kamara now that he'll be healthy to start the season. That said, Williams is not on the fantasy radar in traditional leagues, and he might not even be worth stashing in deeper setups. While Williams would be worth starting if Kamara and Miller both missed time this year, his upside would be limited based on his advanced rushing metrics and lack of receiving chops demonstrated throughout his career.
