Jake Luton Expected To Start Against Texans
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Jake Luton, a sixth-round pick out of Oregon State, is expected to start in Week 9 against the Texans with Gardner Minshew II (thumb) recovering from multiple fractures in his right thumb. It will be Luton's first career start in the NFL, so fantasy managers desperate enough to start him in two-QB superflex leagues shouldn't expect anything over the top. The 24-year-old will be facing a Texans Defense coming off their bye, but they have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to signal-callers per game in 2020. Consider the rookie a low-end QB2 in his first start. You should also downgrade receivers D.J. Chark Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr. and Keelan Cole with Minshew out.
