Hyun Jin Ryu Fires Four Scoreless Innings In Rehab Start
10 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu (elbow) threw four shutout innings in his rehab start at Low-A Dunedin on Sunday. Ryu threw 37 pitches, 27 of which were strikes, during the outing. He punched out one and maxed out at 88.4 mph. The veteran left-hander has been out all season while recovering from offseason Tommy John surgery so this was a good sign for his progression. If all goes well, he could rejoin the Blue Jays rotation in late July or early August. He put up a 5.67 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over just 27 innings during the 2022 season before injuring his elbow.
