Hunter Greene To Have Start Pushed Back
2 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds will push starting pitcher Hunter Greene's (leg) next start back and have pitching prospect Levi Stoudt make a spot start on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Right-hander Luke Weaver (forearm) is also scheduled to come off the injured list to pitch Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Greene was hit in the right tibia by a comebacker in his outing on Monday against the Rays, but X-rays came back negative and he will avoid a trip to the injured list for now. The hard-throwing 23-year-old right-hander has been decent in his first four starts of 2023 in his second big-league season with the Reds, posting a 4.24 ERA (2.50 FIP), 1.53 WHIP and 30.8 percent strikeout rate in 17 innings. Expect him to make a start this weekend against Pittsburgh.
