Frank Reich Thinks Philip Rivers Has Multiple Years Left
4 years agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that he thinks quarterback Philip Rivers can keep playing beyond this season if that's what he wants to do. The 39-year-old was coming off one of his worst seasons in 2019 with the Chargers, but he has thrown for 3,507 yards and 20 touchdowns with only nine interceptions in his first season with the Colts. Indy is currently the sixth seed in the AFC playoff race with a 9-4 record. But Rivers will be a free agent after this season, and there's no guarantee he even wants to play an 18th season. "Never been a doubt in my mind the kind of football Philip Rivers could play and would play this year and has played," Reich said. The veteran gunslinger will have clear QB1 upside in Week 15 against a porous Colts secondary that just lost star safety Justin Reid for the rest of the season due to an injury.
