Florida Fires Head Coach Billy Napier After Four Years
The Florida Gators have fired head coach Billy Napier after four seasons in Gainesville. He vacated the head coaching job with a 22-23 record as the head man for Florida. Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales will be the interim head coach. Napier finished 15-22 against Power 4 teams, with 15 of those 22 losses by double digits. Florida owes Napier approximately $9.7 million within 30 days, with a total buyout of $19 million. Napier becomes the rare coach fired after a win. Florida resumes play on November 1 with the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville against Georgia.
