Fernando Tatis Jr. Heating Up In June
2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. has hit .386 with a 1.255 OPS in 11 games so far in the month of June. In the five games he's been back in the leadoff spot, he has chased just 20.5 percent of pitches he's seen outside the strike zone. Before that, he had been chasing at a 30 percent rate. "Timing is good, my rhythm is good," Tatis said after going 1-for-3 with his team-leading 13th home run of the season, a walk and two runs scored in the win over the Guardians on Tuesday night. "I just feel good all over the plate. Fastball, breaking ball. I just feel like I'm seeing everything well right now." The 24-year-old Dominican superstar is now hitting .273 (53-for-194) with 11 doubles, 33 RBI, eight stolen bases and 31 runs scored in 46 games played.
