Cleveland Picks Up Jose Ramirez's 2022 Option
3 years agoThird baseman Jose Ramirez will have his $12 million option for the 2022 season picked up by Cleveland. Ramirez continues to get better at baseball, and he finished the 2021 season with an outstanding .893 OPS with 36 home runs and 27 stolen bases in 152 games for Cleveland. The 29-year-old just finished the final guaranteed season of his four-year, $26 million deal, but he also has an option for the 2023 season. The three-time All-Star has one of the most team-friendly deals in franchise history, and the three-time Silver Slugger winner will remain a fixture atop Cleveland's lineup going into next season. Ramirez's option for the 2023 season will be worth $14 million, which should still be a huge bargain for one of the best all-around players in baseball.
