Chi Chi Gonzalez Throws 4 1/3 Innings In Relief
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez worked 4 1/3 innings of relief on Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout in a 9-5 loss to the Oakland A's. Jon Gray started this game but exited early with an apparent injury in the top of the third inning. He gave up three runs before leaving the game with a pair of runners on base with one out. Gonzalez replaced him and promptly gave up two singles, allowing both inherited runners to score. He went on to pitch into the seventh inning, scattering seven hits and three runs over his 4 1/3 innings. Gonzalez didn't have much fantasy value as a starter and he offers none as a long reliever. His 4.84 ERA and 1.39 WHIP are nothing special and his underwhelming 25:14 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings (11 appearances, seven starts) won't play in fantasy.
