Cardinals Expected To Trade Third Overall Pick?
2 years agoIt remains to be seen if the Arizona Cardinals trade back from the No. 3 overall selection in this year's NFL draft. There has been a lot of interest surrounding the selection, but we shouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals take it all the way to April 27, when the team is on the clock. One person with knowledge of the team's plan said it would be "a huge missed opportunity" if they don't move back. Arizona's roster needs help at premium spots on the depth chart, so trading back and gaining future draft capital would be extremely beneficial. The team is starved for young talent and could use more picks to give them more opportunities to build around quarterback Kyler Murray (knee). Even with Murray not expected to be ready for the start of the 2023 season, Arizona isn't going to take another signal-caller with the No. 3 pick.
