Browns Place Anthony Walker On Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns are placing linebacker Anthony Walker (hamstring) on Injured Reserve on Friday with a hamstring strain, according to a source. Walker should be back in three weeks. The 26-year-old calls defensive plays for the team, so his loss is a notable one, even if it's only for three weeks. He racked up nine tackles (eight solo) in the Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Walker could be replaced by Malcolm Smith, but the team also worked out free-agent linebacker Reuben Foster on Friday. The Browns defense/special teams was one to avoid in Week 1 against the high-octane offense of the Chiefs, but they'll actually be a fine streaming unit in Week 2 against the Houston Texans without quarterback Deshaun Watson in the fold.
