Brandon Marsh Scratched Due To Ankle Sprain
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh (ankle) was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup due to a mild left ankle sprain, according to the team. He's being considered day-to-day. Cristian Pache will make the start in center field and hit ninth in Marsh's place against the New York Yankees and right-hander Gerrit Cole. Marsh's injury doesn't sound serious, so he should be back in the team's lineup this weekend. The 25-year-old has gone 5-for-15 (.333) with two doubles, a triple, home run, two RBI and three runs scored in the first four games of 2023. Pache, who has struggled mightily at the plate early in his career, should be avoided against one of baseball's best strikeout artists on Wednesday.
