4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and left tackle Trent Williams will be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list as close contacts, according to a source. That means all three players will be out for Thursday night's game against the Packers. Samuel had already been ruled out with his hamstring injury, but the losses of both Aiyuk and Williams are also extremely huge for an offense that has now been gutted by injuries. Kendrick Bourne is also on the COVID list, meaning that Trent Taylor and tight end Ross Dwelley might be the team's top two receiving options Thursday night. With backup quarterback Nick Mullens filling in for Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), avoiding San Fran's offense entirely might be the smart play.
