2 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe said he plans to take full advantage of any opportunities that come up this offseason if he's competing with Mac Jones for the starting job in 2023. Head coach Bill Belichick has been mum on his starting QB for 2023 this offseason after saying last spring that Jones was "our quarterback." "Well, everybody will get a chance to play. We'll play the best players," Belichick said at this year's owners meetings. Jones struggled mightily in his sophomore season in 2022, while Zappe stepped in and won two spot starts before struggling himself against the Chicago Bears in his first NFL season. The 23-year-old will be nice to have around, but all indications are that the Pats will give Jones another shot to see if he can get back on track under new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
