Alex Vlasic Expected to Be Available Thursday
Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alex Vlasic (lower body) is expected to play in Thursday's clash against the Boston Bruins, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. After suffering a skate cut on his leg, Vlasic traveled with the team for its season opener against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night but wasn't quite ready to play. However, he now appears fully recovered from the injury. Vlasic is set to join Sam Rinzel on the first defensive pairing, with Ethan Del Mastro making room in the lineup. The 24-year-old had a solid year last season, producing 30 points (four goals, 26 assists), 103 shots, and 157 blocks in 82 games.
