Albert Pujols Will Be Ready For Opening Day
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols (knee) said his knee is healthy and that he'll be ready for Opening Day. He is unsure if he will play in Cactus League games right away, but he'll be fine for the start of the regular season. The 39-year-old was limited to just 465 at-bats last year due to injury, and he's starting to see his skills decline rapidly. He hit .245/.289/.411 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI for the Halos last season. Pujols has become a big injury risk and is in danger of losing regular playing time to Justin Bour at first base whenever Shohei Ohtani (elbow) makes his debut as the designated hitter. At this point in his career, it's hard to justify owning him in mixed leagues.
