Adam Warren Diagnosed With Ankle Contusion
New York Yankees reliever Adam Warren (ankle) made his season debut Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays, lasting only three batters. Appearing in the sixth inning, the right-hander was hit in the leg by a comeback line drive, which resulted in an out. While he smiled, Warren didn’t even attempt to toss a pitch with the trainers out, being immediately pulled from the game. Fortunately for the Yankees, X-rays on the 30-year-old’s right ankle were negative, but he was diagnosed with an ankle contusion. At this moment, a disabled list stint doesn’t seem necessary, and the Yankees won’t make another roster move relating to Warren.
