Should I start Pat Freiermuth, Hunter Henry, Stone Smartt for Week 15? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.
One of the more popular fantasy football draft strategies is to punt on the tight end position. Fantasy players wait until the last round to draft a tight end and spend the entire season streaming off the waiver wire.
Unfortunately in Week 15, the tight end position has thinned out due to injuries and underperforming players. There may be options still available on the waiver wire that can help, and we're here to help break down some of those options.
Are Pat Freiermuth, Hunter Henry, and Stone Smartt potential streaming options for Week 15? Are any of these players viable starting options for Week 15 and fantasy football lineups? Let's take a closer look and help get that W this week.
Should I Start Pat Freiermuth For Fantasy Football?
Freiermuth is the TE11 for the year, averaging 7.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran tight end has had nine receptions on 10 targets for 116 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and 28.1 fantasy points over the past two weeks, totaling 12.3 or more in both contests.

Unfortunately, Freiermuth faces the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. They’ve held tight ends to eight fantasy points per game, the eighth-fewest in the NFL. However, Freiermuth is a mid-range TE1 despite the poor matchup with George Pickens missing his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury.
Should I Start Hunter Henry For Fantasy Football?
Henry has had a solid season despite playing with multiple quarterbacks. The veteran is the TE12, averaging 7.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in 30.8% of the games, including last week, despite having only one receiving touchdown in 2024.

The New England Patriots face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. The Cardinals have held tight ends to 7.9 fantasy points per game, the sixth-fewest in the NFL. Henry is a low-end TE1 with limited upside this week because of the matchup.
Should I Start Stone Smartt For Fantasy Football?
Smartt will start for the Los Angeles Chargers this week with Hayden Hurst (hip) and Will Dissly (shoulder) out of the lineup. Last week, the young tight end had three receptions for 54 receiving yards and 6.9 half-point PPR fantasy points against the Kansas City Chiefs, making a few impressive catches.

More importantly, Smartt has an excellent matchup in Week 15. He faces a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has surrendered 12.2 fantasy points per game to tight ends, the sixth-most in the NFL. They have given up double-digit fantasy points to tight ends in nine of their past 10 contests.

Terrance Ferguson - Start or Sit?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12 + Team Leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2/FLEX with upside ANALYSIS: The Los Angeles Rams passing attack will look quite different on Monday night when they face the New York Giants. The team just announced that star wideout Puka Nacua will not suit up due to a hip injury. While Davante Adams is […]
Rashod Bateman - Start or Sit?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14-Team Leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4 ANALYSIS: Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman is about to get a lot more targets, according to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Bateman looked solid in training camp, though then again, so do players like WR Elijah Moore, and they end up not doing much in real games. […]
Quentin Johnston - Start or Sit?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12 + Team Leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3 ANALYSIS: Many fantasy managers, myself included (regrettably), expected new Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel to get wide receiver Quentin Johnston more involved on plays where he could utilize his skill set -- running after the catch -- better. That didn't happen in Week […]
Devaughn Vele - Start or Sit?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX ANALYSIS: Vele's performance in Week 1 was shocking. In the absence of WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring), he served as the team's WR2, and caught seven of his nine targets for 69 yards and a touchdown, finishing with 19.9 PPR fantasy points. He played 91 percent […]
Deebo Samuel Sr. - Start or Sit?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12-Team Leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3 ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. was expected to play an ancillary role with his team when he was signed in the offseason.
