NFL DFS Value Plays: Week 6 Bargain Bin for DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo Includes Kirk Cousins, David Montgomery, Jalen Tolbert, more

Kirk Cousins - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Juan's top NFL DFS sleepers and DFS value plays for Week 6 of 2024. These DFS bargains are cheap on FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo daily fantasy football contests.

Welcome to the Week 6 main slate edition of RotoBaller's NFL DFS Bargain Bin for the 2024 NFL season, where the goal is to touch on some potentially mispriced players across the industry who find themselves in favorable matchups and/or suddenly expanded roles.

Each week, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit. On this sixth main slate of the 2024 campaign, I'm glad to report that value-salary players are abundant on Yahoo, FanDuel, and DraftKings.

In addition to offering multiple candidates at each position, I'll also list at least one more player to consider, along with some site-specific value plays when applicable.

NFL DFS Bargain Bin Intro

Before we go NFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, here are a few particulars about format and content.

The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may prove to be a bit more of a roller coaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article!

Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t upside to be had. All of these selections are, therefore, suitable for GPPs and can also often serve as solid cash-game plays while often helping you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.

Typically, I’ll suggest players who are value-priced across three major DFS sites (DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo). However, there are certainly occasions where one or more sites price a player significantly lower than others. Whenever possible, I’ll typically at least note those players as an “XYZ site special.”

This article is by no means intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all value options for the week. Rather, it’s meant to take a deeper dive into those I feel offer some of the best combinations of savings and upside.

The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to say a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criterion.

Quarterback DFS Value Plays

Kirk Cousins, ATL at CAR | DK: $6,200, FD: $7,400, Yahoo: $27

Cousins is likely to draw a fairly elevated roster rate, as not only is he coming off a nationally televised breakout performance that saw him throw for 509 yards and four touchdowns, but he's also drawing a very enticing matchup.

The fact the Falcons are also on some extra rest only makes the entire scenario all the more appealing, and Cousins' 38.4 DK and FD points/34.4 Yahoo points in his most recent game likely puts any concerns about his ability to thrive in Zac Robinson's scheme to rest.

Justin Fields | DK: $5,800, FD: $7,600, Yahoo: $31 or Russell Wilson | DK: $5,300, FD: $6,000, Yahoo: $20  (PIT at LVR)

As of this writing on Thursday, it remains to be seen who head coach Mike Tomlin will opt to go with as his starting quarterback in Week 6. However, whether it's Fields or Wilson, they'll be drawing a matchup that's been a relatively fruitful one for quarterbacks over the first five weeks of the season.

Wilson is somewhat of an unknown quantity within this Arthur Smith offense since he's yet to play this season, but Fields has already proven capable of some productive games in the scheme despite his dud in Week 5 against the Cowboys.

Running Back DFS Value Plays

David Montgomery, DET at DAL | DK: $6,500, FD: $7,900, Yahoo: $29

The Lions-Cowboys clash is going to draw plenty of attention from the DFS community this week, and with good reason. The game has a projected total of 52 points as of Thursday, and that figure has been on the rise.

Moreover, the favored Lions have seen their implied team total bet up from an open of 25 to 27, and if there's a reliable source of touchdowns in Detroit, it's Montgomery. The veteran back already has four TDs through four games, and he's logged 14 red-zone touches overall in that span.

Najee Harris, PIT at LVR | DK: $5,800, FD: $7,200, Yahoo: $22

Harris was a player I'd pegged to take advantage of the Cowboys' vulnerabilities against the run last week, and although that didn't exactly work out for a number of reasons, I don't mind going right back to the workhorse back as a value option this week.

To begin with, Harris is overdue for some trips to the end zone, as he's yet to score a touchdown through five games despite already having logged 14 red-zone touches. Then, consider Harris is facing a Raiders team that's tied with several other clubs for third-most red-zone TDs allowed (11).

ALSO CONSIDER:

  • Tony Pollard, TEN vs. IND | DK: $6,000, FD: $7,000, Yahoo: $27

DraftKings-Yahoo Special:

Wide Receiver DFS Value Plays

Zay Flowers, BAL vs. WAS | DK: $6,500, FD: $7,200, Yahoo: $25

Flowers delivered handsomely as a Week 5 Bargain Bin recommendation, breaking out for a season-best 7-111 line on 12 targets. That performance netted 22 DK/18.5 FD/15.5 Yahoo points and served as a reminder of Flowers' slotting as the Baltimore passing attack's clear-cut No. 1 wideout.

The Ravens' offense can be a difficult one to prognosticate week to week in terms of passing volume, but a matchup against a red-hot Commanders squad that could push the game environment is one that Flowers could thrive in.

Darnell Mooney, ATL at CAR | DK: $5,300, FD: $6,500, Yahoo: $25

Mooney, assuming he's able to play through a knee injury that has rendered him a limited participant in the first two practices of the week, makes for a cost-effective stacking partner with Cousins. The veteran speedster's clearly strong fit in Robinson's scheme makes him capable of delivering strong returns on his current salaries.

After a Bears tenure that was long on promise but relatively short on production during its latter portion, Mooney has encouragingly averaged 8.0 targets per game over his first five contests in Atlanta and parlayed them into a 24-330-3 line.

Jalen Tolbert, DAL vs. DET | DK: $5,000, FD: $6,100, Yahoo: $17

Tolbert appeared to already be on the verge of taking the No. 2 receiver job from Brandin Cooks before the latter's placement on IR due to a knee injury, and the third-year wideout may now be in that spot for the duration of the season.

Tolbert is already within striking distance of the season highs in receptions (22) and receiving yards (268) he established last season, as he boasts a 20-247-2 line on 29 targets through five games. He's also coming off his best game of the season in Week 5, as he put up a 7-87-1 line on 10 targets in Week 5 against the Steelers that netted 21.7 DK/ 18.2 FD and Yahoo points.

ALSO CONSIDER:

DK-FanDuel Special:

Tight End DFS Value Plays

Tucker Kraft, GB vs. ARI | DK: $4,800, FD: $6,000, Yahoo: $17

Kraft was already going to be very popular this week based on his standout Week 5 performance, but with fellow tight end Luke Musgrave likely heading to injured reserve due to his ankle issue and certainly not expected to play this week, the former's roster rate should be especially high.

Nevertheless, with salaries that have risen but are still very reasonable, Kraft remains a highly viable value option in what is an appealing matchup overall against a Cardinals team that just surrendered an 8-64-1 receiving line to the 49ers' George Kittle in a Week 5 win.

Hunter Henry, NE vs. HOU | DK: $3,800, FD: $5,000, Yahoo: $13

Henry's production has largely been a victim of the dire circumstances of the Patriots' quarterback situation this season, but there's change afoot in Week 6. Rookie first-round selection Drake Maye will finally get the starting call, although given the generally shoddy state of New England's offensive line, some might say "getting thrown to the wolves" is the more apt description of his Week 6 assignment.

Nevertheless, Maye does have plenty of upside, and in his first pro start, he could hardly ask for a more trustworthy security blanket than Henry, who's already averaging a solid five targets per game despite New England's relative low pass volume under Jacoby Brissett to date and who already has one 100-yard effort on the board this season.

ALSO CONSIDER:

  • Kyle Pitts, ATL at CAR | DK: $4,400, FD: $5,900, Yahoo: $14
