Hello everybody and welcome! We hit the Quaker State 400 from the Atlanta Motor Speedway course in Atlanta, Georgia this week and another edition of NASCAR DFS on PrizePicks. Fantasy Score Point Totals
Chase Elliott Over 33.5 Points. This was again not an easy choice but Elliott should run very well at Road America. Again, his finishing ability did indeed net him the win and 40 points last week. Expect the No. 9 to perform much better than his first time at Atlanta. Elliott had numerous problems from the beginning and then his engine ultimately blew ending his day. Despite the long weekend at Pocono, the feeling is that the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver will be close to the top five on Sunday. Take the over.
Kurt Busch Over 32.5 Points. The older Busch has managed to consolidate his position in "The Chase". He has finished in the top-eight in four of his previous five races. Eighth place equals 33 points which would be the over. Last week, the No. 1 driver went from 16th to fourth at Road America. He was racing well at Atlanta the first time around until he crashed. It was just one of those accidents. Expect the older Busch to be up and down the top ten all afternoon on Sunday. Take the over on Sunday as a Busch family two-fer.
Denny Hamlin Over 33 Points. The idea is great given the build and the Joe Gibbs Racing cars have looked better and better over the last several weeks. People forget that Denny Hamlin should have won at Pocono as he was leading. He simply ran out of fuel and that was that. Last week, Hamlin finished fifth on the Road America course in Wisconsin. The first time in Atlanta saw Hamlin on the pole and finish in fourth with 27 laps led. No one would be surprised if Hamlin came close to winning the race or finishing even in the top three. Take the over and run here.
Kyle Larson Over 38.5 Points. The risk is only in what calamity may befall Kyle Larson on Sunday. Last week, Larson was crashed into by his own teammate. The weekend at Pocono saw him blow a tire in one race and then he had to scramble up to second in the other due to an iffy pit strategy. He starts sixth in Atlanta this week as he did earlier in the season. In that race, Larson led 269 laps en route to a second-place finish. The Hendrick Motorsports Racing team does not quite have the dominance they held for the past couple of months. That being said, Larson is one of the better drivers on the Atlanta track. He may not lead the number of laps like the first Atlanta race but take the over nonetheless.
Kyle Busch Over 34.5 Points. Busch found a way to win the Sunday race at Pocono as Denny Hamlin ran out of gas. Regardless, Busch did very well last weekend and would have finished second with some laps led anyway. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver looked good again in Wisconsin finishing in third. This, again, is the second trip to Atlanta. The first race saw the younger Busch start in 19th and finish up in fifth. A fifth-place finish nets 36 points. The No. 18 has gone from 10th to 4th in the points race. He could very well challenge Larson and all the Hendrick cars once again Sunday.
