Koby's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Saturday, 8/2/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome Back, RotoBallers! That was such a great trade deadline, probably one of the best we have had in a while. As a Mariners fan, I'm thrilled they reunited with Eugenio Suarez and partnered him with Josh Naylor. There was a ton of big moves, and I'm excited to see how the rest of the season plays out!
We have a solid seven-game slate on deck for us. The weather is looking good; however, some brutal winds are coming in from center field during the Guardians/Twins game, so keep an eye on that, as it could benefit the pitchers and be a significant disadvantage for the hitters. Be sure to jump into our RotoBaller Discord, as we'll be helping you build the best possible versions of lineups this evening.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/2/2025, with the slate starting at 4:05 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Zack Wheeler, SP - PHI ($10.7K DK/$10.6K FD)
I didn't think I would be going up against Detroit in this one, but since the All-Star break, the Tigers have gone flat. They have the lowest wRC+ against RHP at 73 to go with a low .275 wOBA. They also are sporting the highest K% at 27.4% and the lowest walk% at 5.6%. This is a prime position for the red-hot Wheeler. This could be a pitcher's duel, and we will see who lasts longer in this one, with him going against Tarik Skubal.
Zack Wheeler has put out some elite stuff this year; he has a 33.3% K% to go along with a low 5.4% BB%. It is for good reason that he is atop the NL Cy Young conversation. He has a quality start in six of his last nine games, and in seven of those games, he also put up eight or more strikeouts. Wheeler has been on a tear, and I don't see him stopping against a struggling Tigers offense that failed to improve much at the deadline.
Colton Gordon, SP - HOU ($6.4K DK/$6.9K FD)
Call me crazy, but I like Gordon in this spot. Plus, we are getting him for dirt cheap, especially on FanDuel! This is a great punt opportunity with solid upside if Gordon can get his stuff working like we have seen in some games this season. He has been pretty inconsistent and has struggled to go deep into games, but he is going up against a Red Sox team that has struggled against lefties since the All-Star Break.
Since then, Boston has been second-to-last in wRC+ with a 48 to go with a .244 wOBA. They are also pushing a 26.6% K%. Even if we include the whole month of July, they still rank in the bottom 10 in wRC+. Colton Gordon has nothing to be excited about, but it is not every day we get someone this cheap with a good matchup as this one. Play Wheeler in cash games, but if you want to mix it up, play some Gordon in GPPs.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Merrill Kelly, SP - TEX ($8.8K DK/$9.4K FD)
- Tanner Bibee, SP - CLE ($7.5K DK/$8.6K FD)
- Luis Castillo, SP - SEA ($7.8K DK/$9.4K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Josh Naylor, 1B - SEA ($5K DK/$3.2K FD)
Naylor has been solid since joining the Mariners. He now goes up against a former teammate in Merrill Kelly. Naylor has been great against RHP this season to the tune of .365 wOBA and a SLG of .469. He is still looking for the success he had in Cleveland last season in the power department, but he is still hitting the ball well on average. He is also getting more stolen bases recently, with five stolen bases since joining the Mariners.
Kelly has been hit significantly harder by LHH this season, too; hitters have a near .300 wOBA and a .415 SLG against him. Kelly might still be adjusting to his new team and may not be quite ready for the potent Mariners offense that has swept the Rangers this season so far. Naylor presents an elite left-handed opportunity in Seattle.
Brice Turang, 2B - MIL ($3.7K DK/$3K FD)
Turang has turned himself into a pivotal part of this offense. Brice isn't a power guy, but he gets a solid spot to go against Jake Irvin. Turang is more of an average guy, with a .322 wOBA against RHP this season. He has also been able to get on base via the walk, which allows him to steal bases and has been a big part of his game.
Turang leading off gives him ample opportunities to get on base and score well. I love a lefty stack for the Brewers as Irvin has been terrible against them. At his price, we don't need much, but him getting on base and getting a stolen base would be elite value for Turang.
Anthony Volpe, SS - NYY ($3.6K DK/$3.1K FD)
Good thing we don't count defensive stats when it comes to fantasy, as then I wouldn't be rostering Volpe. On the offensive side, though, Volpe has been crushing the ball recently. He has five home runs in his last nine games. Three of those games have been multi-hit games, including last night's, where he had four hits in five ABs.

Eury Perez has some reverse splits for us, as he has been much worse against RHH this season. He has a .258 wOBA and a .329 SLG against RHH this season, which is 80 points higher than he does against lefties. I'm gonna ride the hot hand in Volpe, and maybe we'll see another homer in what would be his sixth in ten games.
- Cal Raleigh, C - SEA ($6.3K DK/$4.1K FD)
- Francisco Lindor, SS - NYM ($5.5K DK/$3.5K FD)
- Isaac Collins, OF/2B - MIL ($3.3K DK/$2.7K FD)
- Rafael Devers, 3B - SFG ($4.4K DK/$3.7K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jesus Sanchez, OF - HOU ($3.7K DK/$3.2K FD)
Sanchez made a splash in his Astros debut, although it didn't help them get the win; he still had two hits in his four ABs. He is getting a great matchup here against Walker Buehler, who has given up a .383 wOBA and .476 SLG to opposing LHH.
Sanchez has been great against RHP too, with a .466 SLG and .351 wOBA against them this year. The Astros needed more lefty bats in the lineup, and they got a power-hitting one in a perfect spot against Buehler.
Christian Yelich, OF - MIL ($4.3K DK/$3.5K FD)
Yelich is the best spend-up option on the Brewers. He has crushed right-handed hitters this season to the tune of 18 home runs with .506 SLG and .366 wOBA. Irvin is the perfect matchup for someone like Yelich, as Irvin has been blown up by lefties this season for a .350 wOBA and .489 SLG.

— Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) August 2, 2025
Irvin has not been a threat this season, and I think we will see a big game from the Brewers once again against him. I think we are getting him a bit underpriced, more so on DK. If he hits a homer in this one, it pays off his salary easily.
Steven Kwan, OF - CLE ($4.4K DK/$2.8K FD)
Steven Kwan survived the deadline after what seemed like multiple attempts by teams trying to trade for him. He has 13 hits in his last nine games and is going up against Bailey Ober in this one. Ober is fresh off the IL. Ober has a .350 wOBA and .497 SLG against LHH this season, and with him being a little rusty, he might be prone to some more hits.
Kwan has been elite against RHP, sporting a .366 wOBA and a .466 SLG this season. He has also hit all nine of his home runs against RHP this season. The deadline didn't seem to affect Kwan's mentality, as he got two hits in last night's game.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Brandon Nimmo, OF - NYM ($4.8K DK/$3.1K FD)
- Randy Arozarena, OF - SEA ($5.1K DK/$3.1K FD)
- Blake Perkins, OF - MIL ($3.2K DK/$2.7K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
1. Houston Astros (Implied Run Total - 4.8) vs. Walker Buehler
The Astros added some key pieces to their lineup, getting Sanchez from the Marlins and returning Carlos Correa from the Twins. They now get Buehler, who has been downright awful this year. I'm expecting the Astros to bounce back after a low-scoring affair last night.
Favorite Combo: Sanchez, Altuve, Caratini, Pena (if he plays)
2. Milwaukee Brewers (Implied Run Total - 5) vs. Jake Irvin
Milwaukee has a 106 wRC+ against RHP since the All-Star break. They looked red-hot in their win against the Nationals last night, putting up 16 runs. Irvin has been rough, and he has to deal with likely five to six lefties in the lineup, which he has struggled against this season. The Brewers also have the second-highest implied run total, only below the New York Mets.
Favorite Combo: Yelich, Perkins, Turang, Frelick
3. New York Mets (Implied Run Total - 5.1) vs. Giants Bullpen
The Mets are taking on the Giants' bullpen in this one, as it looks like Spencer Bivens is starting them off. They have the highest IRT on the slate, and the lefty-heavy lineup should do well against a very right-heavy bullpen. Mets will likely be chalky, but they should be a high-scoring offense in this one.
Favorite Combo: Nimmo, Mullins, Alonso, Lindor, Soto
