Ladd McConkey fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 2 (2024). Should you start or sit Ladd McConkey for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey was targeted seven times in his NFL debut against the Raiders, catching five of those passes for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Los Angeles has a refocused wide receiver group in 2024 with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both gone. Joshua Palmer is supposed to be the No. 1 guy, but it was McConkey who was targeted a team-high seven times in the first game of the year. Palmer was third on the team in targets behind McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

It was a good sign for McConkey's fantasy value, but it's still a little too early to trust him. Take away the touchdown and his debut was a disappointment. The Chargers also focused heavily on the run game in the opener.
McConkey rates as a high-end WR4 play against a porous Carolina Panthers defense this week. He could easily have a big game, but there's no guarantee that he will get more targets than Palmer or Johnston again.
