The San Francisco 49ers sat at a 3-3 record prior to trading for superstar running back, Christian McCaffrey. Fast forward nine weeks and the Niners are 10-4, in third place in the NFC standings. No team is hotter than Kyle Shanahan's squad, who are on a seven-game win streak, outscoring opponents by an average score of 27.6-11 during the stretch.
Christian McCaffrey has led all running backs with 24.0 PPG over the past eight weeks and is a common denominator for a large portion of title-contending fantasy teams. McCaffrey has been a limited participant all week at practice, however, tending to knee soreness that's lingered over the past few weeks.

Christian McCaffrey Injury News
McCaffrey's name has landed on the 49ers' injury report for each of the past four weeks with the same knee injury, if you can call it that. The former Carolina Panther has never carried an injury designation into gameday and has participated at practice in some capacity in all but one practice since November 27.
The 26-year-old running back just logged his highest snap share this past week against the Seattle Seahawks, playing in 89% of San Francisco's offensive snaps. With 32 touches in last Thursday's game, it appears Christian McCaffrey's participation level has merely been precautionary.
McCaffrey will have had eight full days to recover between the 49ers' last game and Saturday's showdown with the Washington Commanders.
Is Christian McCaffrey Injured or Playing in Week 16?
It wouldn't be a big surprise to see McCaffrey participate in Thursday and Friday's practices at a limited level. The 49ers have been very cautious with their injury-prone star since acquiring him. This team is rolling at the right time and has its sight aimed at a championship.
The former Stanford Cardinal is expected to play this weekend against a Commanders' front seven who just got their star pass-rusher, Chase Young back from injury.
Christian McCaffrey has topped 25 points in three consecutive weeks and is a matchup-proof fantasy star. Washington ranks as the seventh-worst fantasy matchup for running backs, but that doesn't apply to the league's most dynamic running back.
