Top Hitter Streamers and Starts - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 6 (May 4- May 10)

Brooks Lee - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Rankings, MLB DFS Picks

Dan's top hitter streamers and starts as fantasy baseball waiver wire adds for Week 6 of 2026 (May 4 - May 10). He analyzes streamers with favorable matchups, schedules.

The first full week of May brings us a ton of baseball games! We have 12 teams playing a full seven-game schedule and some really big intradivisional series as well. The Cubs have a four-game set with the Reds as the top two teams in the NL Central match up, while the first-place Guardians host the Royals for four games and another AL Central foe, the Minnesota Twins, for three more.

My weekly hitters, streamers, fantasy baseball waiver-wire pickups column will identify hitters with favorable matchups who can be considered for waiver-wire pickups or streamers ahead of Sunday night's waiver-wire runs in leagues with weekly transactions. Because of format changes to Yahoo leagues this year, players featured in this article this week are rostered in 30% or fewer leagues on Yahoo (yes, I'm increasing this number as the wire is already getting picked over pretty aggressively this season).

You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller. Now, let's see which hitters we should consider grabbing off the wire as we roll into Week 6 of the fantasy baseball season!

What Teams Offer the Most Streaming Value for Week 6?

While most MLB teams are playing six games this week, we have 12 teams playing seven games.

Seven-Game Weeks

BAL, BOS, CHC, CIN, CLE, KCR, MIA, NYY, PHI, SDP, STL, and TBR.

Ballpark Upgrades:

  • CWS (three games at LAA)
  • HOU (three games at CIN)
  • NYM (three games at COL, three games at ARI)
  • TBR (three games at BOS)
  • TEX (three games at NYY)

Week 6 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are rostered in 30 percent or fewer leagues, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Daniel Schneemann, 2B/3B/SS/OF - CLE (29%)

Schneemann's rostership continues to grow, but he's still under our 30% cap despite another strong week at the plate. He's the ultimate utility man for fantasy right now with all that roster eligibility, and he's locked into the strong side of a platoon for Cleveland, meaning he's starting every time they face an RHP.

Carlos Cortes, OF - ATH (28%)

Cortes has been one of the hottest pickups in fantasy over the last few weeks. His power cooled off this week, but he's still piling up hits and getting on base. You can't ignore that .387 average and his potential for run production, hitting in the middle of this Athletics lineup.

Ryan Jeffers, C - MIN (25%)

Jeffers is one of only a few catchers who hit cleanup for their team, and his last two weeks have been very strong offensively. In that span, he's hitting .303 with two home runs, nine RBI, and seven runs scored.

The Twins' hitters get to feast on Washington's pitching to start the week, too!

Samuel Basallo, C - BAL (23%)

A lot of managers were expecting more from Basallo out of the gates, but he struggled in March and the first half of April. However, he's hit four of his five home runs over his last 11 games and has raised his average to .239. He was 4-5 at the plate yesterday with another dinger, and is starting to look much more comfortable at the plate.

Don't sleep on the long-term upside of this power-hitting prospect, especially when he's playing his home games at the hitter-friendly (for lefties) Camden Yards!

Jake Bauers, 1B/OF - MIL (22%)

Bauers didn't leave the yard this week, but he has been awfully steady in terms of batting average and runs scored. He's now scored 20 runs this year, and we know more home runs are coming yet.

Nolan Arenado, 3B - ARI (22%)

Arenado swatted another home run this week, his fifth on the season. And remember, he didn't hit his first of the year until April 13th.

He's hitting .400 over the last two weeks and has shown that it's not just a hot streak; he truly is regaining some of his old form.

Brooks Lee, 2B/3B/SS - MIN (18%)

What about our cover boy, Brooks Lee? I have been recommending Lee now for several weeks, and he's finally starting to gain some rostership across leagues.

I think he's one of the more underrated young hitters in baseball. The Twins are having him hit eighth, which is less than ideal, yet he still manages to find a way to be productive and is piling up runs, RBI, and even a few steals while hitting .255.

I love the matchup for Minnesota this week against Washington to start the week. And with Lee being a switch-hitter, he's rarely getting a day off as he's not part of a traditional platoon.

Casey Schmitt, 1B/2B/3B - SFG (16%)

The Giants' offense has been abysmal this year, but Schmitt continues to shine as one of the few bright spots. He's hitting .300 on the year with four home runs and has been moved up into the cleanup spot in the lineup as the Giants' more prolific hitters ahead of him have struggled.

There is value here with Schmitt as he's eligible everywhere in the infield other than shortstop.

Brayan Rocchio, 2B/SS - CLE (15%)

I mentioned Rocchio last week, too, so I will keep this short. The switch-hitting shortstop has two steals in his last three games and continues to get on base out of the nine-hole for Cleveland, giving them a second table-setter for their bigger bats in the middle of the lineup.

Spencer Steer, 1B/OF - CIN (13%)

I probably sound like a broken record, but Steer is a better hitter than his surface stats show. The fact that he has only 10 RBI is pretty fluky considering how hard he's hitting the ball. He's on a five-game hitting streak and should continue to find his way into the lineup for the Reds every day this week. I like his power potential against the Cubs pitchers at Wrigley to start this week, too.

Nathan Church, OF - STL (11%)

Church was on a power binge there for a while, but cooled off a bit this week. He's still a guy with a solid power profile and who is getting at-bats on an everyday basis, however, so give him a look if you need help in the outfield.

Nick Gonzales, 2B/3B/SS - PIT (11%)

I am not sure there has been a more clutch hitter this year than Gonzo, and he's finally starting to get some recognition around the league. The Pirates' infielder has 17 RBI this year despite hitting in the bottom half of their lineup. He's been so good with runners on base, and is making contact at such a high level that he's raised his average to .336 now for the season.

This is a much better offensive lineup from top to bottom in Pittsburgh this year, so expect more RBI opportunities for Gonzales going forward.

Nathaniel Lowe, 1B - CIN (7%)

Lowe has had a nice revival in Cincy so far this year, and is streaking right now with five home runs and 10 RBI over the last two weeks. As long as he's starting for the Reds and getting a ton of at-bats at the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, he should be considered as a cheap source of home runs and RBI.

Week 6 Deep League Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Some widely available hitters (under 5% rostered) could be worth a look this week due to hot starts at the plate or strong matchups.

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely! And, as always, thanks for making RotoBaller your choice for fantasy baseball content all season long!
