Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers - Week 4

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Week 4 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Dale Johnson recommends guards, forwards and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

Here we go again. This past week we have seen four teams with positive or inconclusive COVID-19 tests, leading to quite a few key players quarantine. We even saw the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics game postponed Sunday (even though the Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers game on Saturday should have also been postponed).

Streaming will be a key factor in winning your match up this week with Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Tobias Harris and others currently in quarantine. Without further ado, let's get down to the nitty-gritty and dive into some likely available players with good streaming schedules and/or opportunities in week 4.

Our staff at RotoBaller has great insight and daily columns on how to improve your squad and tips to make your team successful, so be sure to check them out! Now, let's get prepared for Week 4. All players in this article are rostered at 50 percent or less.

Week 4 Standard 9-Cat Leagues - Category Streamers

Columns are written based on H2H 9-category standard size leagues:

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Dwight Howard - C - Philadelphia 76ers (12% rostered)

You should pick up on a common theme in this article, but the Philadelphia 76ers are a mess right now. On Saturday, with the Sixers playing just seven players, Howard picked up a double-double in a spot start with 11 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes. Most 76ers are still in quarantine and the Sixers have a five-game week coming up. Joel Embiid is slated to play Monday, but Howard has anchored a solid field-goal percentage all season, even with Embiid in the lineup. Howard boasts a 70.3 field-goal percentage on 3.7 attempts in 14.5 minutes per game this season. With the uncertainty surrounding the rotation, Howard could see an increased role sooner rather than later.

Other streamers:

Enes Kanter - C - Portland Trail Blazers (44% rostered)

Moritz Wagner - PF/C - Washington Wizards (10% rostered)

Khem Birch - PF/C - Orlando Magic (5% rostered)

Isaiah Roby - PF - Oklahoma City Thunder (1% rostered)

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Khem Birch - PF/C - Orlando Magic (5% rostered)

Birch has quietly been a top-80 fantasy player this season and borderline top-50 over the past week. The most surprising, however, has been Birch's free-throw percentage so far. Birch is hitting an incredible 90.0 percent on 2.0 attempts in 19.9 minutes per game this season. Birch has been a sub-69.0 percent free throw percentage player in his first three seasons, but appears to have flipped a switch and has only missed two free-throw attempts all year. To make matters even better, the Magic have been playing Birch alongside starting center Nikola Vucevic at times as well as the backup five position. There should be plenty of opportunities this week for Birch with the Magic having four games and he could also help in other categories outside of free throws.

Other streamers:

Cole Anthony - PG - Orlando Magic (43% rostered)

Patty Mills - PG - San Antonio Spurs (33% rostered)

Carmelo Anthony - SF/PF - Portland Trail Blazers (31% rostered)

Payton Prichard - PG - Boston Celtics (18% rostered)

POINTS

Tyrese Maxey - SG - Philadelphia 76ers (24% rostered)

Maxey is one of the most popular names you will see here after exploding for 39 points with three 3-pointers on 54.5% from the field (no free throw attempts), seven boards, six dimes, two steals, no blocks and just 2 turnovers in almost 44 minutes on Sunday. The 76ers only had eight players available with only seven actually playing (Mike Scott was injured but had to suit up in order for the game to be played) after Seth Curry tested positive late in the week. Plenty of players are still in quarantine, including Tobias Harris and Shake Milton, and Ben Simmons (knee) has already been ruled out Monday with knee soreness. The 76ers even play a whopping five games this week. Maxey is a strong streamer for points and threes, but can also chip in other counting stats so make sure you scoop him up early before it's too late. The 76ers start off the week with a back-to-back.

Other streamers:

Patty Mills - PG - San Antonio Spurs (33% rostered)

Carmelo Anthony - SF/PF - Portland Trail Blazers (31% rostered)

Payton Prichard - PG - Boston Celtics (18% rostered)

Gary Trent Jr. - SG/SF - Portland Trail Blazers (12% rostered)

THREE-POINTERS

Kevin Huerter - SG/SF - Atlanta Hawks (52% rostered)

As I'm writing this, Huerter has just gone over 50% roster percentage so I have to break my threshold here just this once. Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) has an avulsion fracture and bone bruise in his knee and is without a timetable to return. Huerter has been picking it up lately and has played 33 minutes in back-to-back games. Huerter also hits 2.4 three-pointers per game this season, including eight three-pointers combined over his last two contests. The Hawks play four games this week starting Monday and include a back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday. Huerter is a strong streamer for threes and can also help you out in assists as well.

Other streamers:

Kelly Olynyk - PF/C - Miami Heat (33% rostered)

Patty Mills - PG - San Antonio Spurs (33% rostered)

Tyrese Maxey - SG - Philadelphia 76ers (24% rostered)

Saddiq Bey - SF - Detroit Pistons (10% rostered)

REBOUNDS

Tony Bradley - C - Philadelphia 76ers (1% rostered)

It is comical I am actually recommending two centers on the same team in this article, but that is the state we are in with all the current health and safety implications right now. On Saturday, with the Sixers playing just seven players, Bradley had a huge double-double off the bench with 11 points and 15 rebounds in 24 minutes. Bradley shot 71.4% percent from the field while also chipping in a steal, block and assist. Granted, this was without Joel Embiid and the rest of the starting lineup due to health and safety protocols, but it is worth noting given Philadelphia having a five-game week. Embiid is probable to play Monday, but Philadelphia immediately has a back-to-back set and could miss the second leg. In the two games Embiid has missed this year, Bradley has a total of 23 rebounds.

Other streamers:

Enes Kanter - C - Portland Trail Blazers (44% rostered)

Josh Hart - SG/SF - New Orleans Pelicans (23% rostered)

Dwight Howard - C - Philadelphia 76ers (12% rostered)

James Johnson - PF/C - Dallas Mavericks (1% rostered)

ASSISTS

Tyus Jones - PG - Minnesota Timberwolves (20% rostered)

This is yet another reminder Jones racks up assists right now with Ja Morant (ankle) projected to be sidelined for another week. Jones is coming off an 11-point, 10-assist double-double Friday against the Brooklyn Nets. Since taking over the starting point guard position, Jones is averaging 12.6 potential assists (a situation where a ball-handler make a pass to a player who takes a field goal attempt within the determined amount of time required of earning an assist, called an assist window, if the field goal is converted) per game. This is good for 16th in the NBA during this span which is just above Giannis Antetokounmpo (11.6) and just under Stephen Curry (13.3). If you need assists, Jones should be at the top of your priority list.

Other streamers:

Cole Anthony - PG - Orlando Magic (43% rostered)

Delon Wright - SG/SF - Detroit Pistons (33% rostered)

Payton Prichard - PG - Boston Celtics (18% rostered)

T.J. McConnell - PG/SG - Indiana Pacers (2% rostered)

STEALS

Justin Holiday - SG/SF - Indiana Pacers (31% rostered)

Holiday has seen a surge in popularity since T.J. Warren (foot) underwent surgery and is in a solid streaming position for week 4. Holiday and the Indiana Pacers have a five-game week starting with a back-to-back set on Monday and Tuesday. Holiday has recorded a steal in seven out of nine games this season and averages 1.2 swipes in 29.2 minutes per game. Holiday can also get a solid three-point contributor as well with strong field-goal percentage and minimal turnovers. Disclaimer: Jeremy Lamb (knee) is practicing fully and expected to make the current road trip with the team, but will be limited if he plays. This should not have any impact on Holiday for this week, but something to keep an eye on.

Other streamers:

Jeff Teague - PG/SG - Boston Celtics (30% rostered)

Tyus Jones - PG - Memphis Grizzlies (20% rostered)

T.J. McConnell - PG/SG - Indiana Pacers (2% rostered)

James Johnson - PF/C - Dallas Mavericks (1% rostered)

BLOCKS

Daniel Theis - C - Boston Celtics (48% rostered)

Theis just makes the cut here after seeing a big amount of adds lately after Robert Williams tested positive for COVID-19. Grant Williams and Tristan Thompson were deemed close contacts and Theis is the only remaining center on the roster. Theis does not actually get as many rebounds as he should for a center, but to make matters worse for the Celtics, forward Jayson Tatum also tested positive and Jaylen Brown was a close contact. Such a decimated lineup leaves Theis with more opportunities to rebound and even contribute on the offensive end if he sees big minutes.

Other streamers:

Kelly Olynyk - PF/C - Miami Heat (33% rostered)

Tacko Fall - C - Boston Celtics (3% rostered)

James Johnson - PF/C - Dallas Mavericks (1% rostered)

Tony Bradley - C - Philadelphia 76ers (1% rostered)

TURNOVERS

Eric Paschall - SF/PF - Golden State Warriors (13 rostered)

Paschall has seized the Warriors backup center role and has shown no signs of letting. Paschall has scored in double figures in eight straight games since Marquese Chriss (ankle) received season-ending surgery on his ankle. Entering Sunday, Paschall is averaging 13.5 points on 58.0 percent from the field, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 threes in 18.3 minutes per game over that stretch. Paschall is also turning the ball over just 0.4 times per game in his past eight games. If you need a player who can score at a high percentage without hurting you in turnovers, Paschall is your man.

Other streamers:

Cameron Johnson - SF/PF - Phoenix Suns (35% rostered)

Tyrese Maxey - SG - Philadelphia 76ers (24% rostered)

Deni Avdija- SG/SF - Washington Wizards (19% rostered)

Saddiq Bey - SF - Detroit Pistons (10% rostered)
