Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers - Week 13

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Week 13 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Dale Johnson recommends guards, forwards and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

After all the March Madness we have seen this past weekend, the NBA trade deadline and fantasy playoffs loom in the distance. Those looking for a playoff push can't afford to be frugal with their acquisitions, but it could also help to see how the trade deadline shapes up and pick up the pieces from the aftermath. With that being said, let's look ahead at this week's streaming schedule.

No teams have a five-game or two-game week so let's look at the good streaming days. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday all have six or less games, making them streaming targets. The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers play on all three of those days. We will target some players from these teams, especially with LeBron James (ankle) out indefinitely, as well as a few others with four-game weeks.

Our staff at RotoBaller has great insight and daily columns on how to improve your squad and tips to make your team successful, so be sure to check them out! Now, let's get prepared for the upcoming week. All players in this article are rostered at 50 percent or less.

Week 12 Standard 9-Category Leagues

Columns are written based on H2H 9-category standard size leagues:

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Ivica Zubac - C - Los Angeles Clippers (38% rostered)

Zubac has been a staple in this category during the longevity of this column, but good for reason. With Serge Ibaka (back) ailing, Zubac has been seeing bigger minutes and delivering. Over the past three games, Zubac is averaging 13.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks in 31.3 minutes per game. Zubac's also doing this while shooting the ball at an incredible 81.0 (!) percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free throw line. The Clippers have a four-game week and great start to the week with three games between Monday and Thursday.

Other streamers:

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Jordan Poole - PG/SG - Golden State Warriors (35% rostered)

Poole is likely not available in most competitive leagues, but he has been absolutely on fire over the past two weeks. Over the past seven games, Poole is averaging 20.9 points on 54.5 percent from the field, 44.5 percent from the three-point line and 88.2 percent from the free throw line. Stephen Curry (tailbone) is banged up and the Warriors play on both Tuesday and Thursday this week, two prime streaming days. You will definitely see Poole repeat in a couple different categories as he is strong in threes and points as well.

Other streamers:

POINTS

Alec Burks - SG/SF - New York Knicks (25% rostered)

Burks has finally hit his stride again after a lengthy absence due to an ankle injury to start the season. Burks has double digit scoring efforts in five straight games with at least 15 points in four of those games. The Knicks are struggling with injuries to their backcourt and Burks even jumped into the starting lineup on Thursday, posting a 21-point, 10-rebound stat line in 33 minutes. The Knicks only play three games this week, but play on both Tuesday and Thursday which guarantees Burks will be able to fit into your lineup.

Other streamers:

  • Jordan Poole - PG/SG - Golden State Warriors (35% rostered)
  • Immanuel Quickley - PG - New York Knicks (27% rostered)
  • Shake Milton - PG/SG - Philadelphia 76ers (22% rostered)
  • Talen Horton-Tucker - SG/SF - Los Angeles Lakers (17% rostered)

THREE-POINTERS

Markieff Morris - PF/C - Los Angeles Lakers (7% rostered)

With Lebron James (ankle) going down and Anthony Davis (calf) still out, Morris is likely going to be forced into a more prominent role on offense. Morris has already hit a three-pointer in eight straight games and has hit multiple threes in six of those games. The Lakers play on all good streaming days this week so Morris is guaranteed to contribute to your lineup.

Other streamers:

  • Gary Trent Jr. - SG/SF - Portland Trail Blazers (42% rostered)
  • Jordan Poole - PG/SG - Golden State Warriors (35% rostered)
  • Jae Crowder - SF/PF - Phoenix Suns (33% rostered)
  • Immanuel Quickley - PG - New York Knicks (27% rostered)

REBOUNDS

Talen Horton-Tucker - SG/SF - Los Angeles Lakers (17% rostered)

Another Laker who should benefit from injuries in the coming weeks is Horton-Tucker. Horton-Tucker was a fan favorite coming into the season after some very impressive preseason performances, but has not carved out a consistent role until now. He only averages 2.6 rebounds on the season, but over the past four games, that average bumps up to 4.3 boards in just 23.5 minutes per game. If his minutes spike, Horton-Tucker is a strong rebound streamer who can also contribute assists and defensive stats.

Other streamers:

  • Dwight Howard - C - Philadelphia 76ers (46% rostered)
  • Bobby Portis - PF/C - Milwaukee Bucks (43% rostered)
  • Ivica Zubac - C - Los Angeles Clippers (38% rostered)
  • Markieff Morris - PF/C - Los Angeles Lakers (7% rostered)

ASSISTS

Ty Jerome - PG/SG - Oklahoma City Thunder (7% rostered)

Jerome has flown under the radar this year, but is quietly contributing to the young core of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jerome is up to 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 26 minutes per game this year and should only go up from here. Typical starting point guard Theo Maledon is not with the team as of Sunday and George Hill (thumb) has no real timetable to return, assuming he does not get traded first. Jerome is expected to slide in as a primary ball handler for the Thunder especially with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (shoulder) banged up.

Other streamers:

  • T.J. McConnell - PG/SG - Indiana Pacers (40% rostered)
  • Shake Milton - PG/SG - Philadelphia 76ers (22% rostered)
  • Tomas Satoransky - PG/SG - Chicago Bulls (18% rostered)
  • Talen Horton-Tucker - SG/SF - Los Angeles Lakers (17% rostered)

STEALS

Matisse Thybulle - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (13% rostered)

Thybulle has always been known as a defensive stopper since entering the league and has shown that over the past couple weeks. Thybulle has recorded a steal in eight of his last nine contests, including at least one steal in seven straight games. Thybulle's average is now up to 1.6 steals in just 19 minutes per game, ranking him 13th out of the entire NBA. The Sixers play on Tuesday and Thursday this week and Ben Simmons (knee) has been banged up a bit. Thybulle would see a major boost if Simmons misses any time.

Other streamers:

  • T.J. McConnell - PG/SG - Indiana Pacers (40% rostered)
  • Danny Green - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (33% rostered)
  • Jae'Sean Tate - SG - Houston Rockets (25% rostered)
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - SG/SF - Los Angeles Lakers (11% rostered)

BLOCKS

Moses Brown - C - Oklahoma City Thunder (33% rostered)

Brown burst onto the scene after dominating the G League and saw his roster percentage spike after a monster 20-point, 16-rebound, five-block performance. Brown has at least one block in each of the five games he's played so far and should continue to get minutes as the Thunder decide what to do with Al Horford with the trade deadline looming. Brown could easily turn into a must-roster player given upside, but is also a solid pick up for teams in need of blocks.

Other streamers:

  • Dwight Howard - C - Philadelphia 76ers (46% rostered)
  • Nerlens Noel - C - New York Knicks (43% rostered)
  • Ivica Zubac - C - Los Angeles Clippers (38% rostered)
  • Nicolas Claxton - C - Brooklyn Nets (9% rostered)

TURNOVERS

Nicolas Claxton - C - Brooklyn Nets (9% rostered)

Claxton is a personal favorite of mine just by the way he plays and has great per-minute upside. Claxton's per-36 averages this year are 18.0 points on 63.2 percent shooting, 8.4 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, 1.7 steals and just 1.0 turnovers. Claxton is easily the most talented big man on their roster yet will likely still play behind DeAndre Jordan and newly acquired Blake Griffin. Despite this, Claxton still offers value in field-goal percentage, rebounds, blocks and minimal turnovers in his limited minutes.

Other streamers:

  • Jordan Poole - PG/SG - Golden State Warriors (35% rostered)
  • Moses Brown - C - Oklahoma City Thunder (33% rostered)
  • Matisse Thybulle - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (13% rostered)
  • Ty Jerome - PG/SG - Oklahoma City Thunder (7% rostered)
