FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/2/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to Week 5 of the baseball season. We ended Week 4 on a high note thanks to Clayton Kershaw's dominant performance (81 points), which helped launch teams to the 250+ point range. We'll see if the excitement transitions to the weekday.

Contests start at 7:05 ET, and the lack of strong pitching options make this a tough day to stack offenses. Only four pitchers are priced over $9,000. Can A.J. Griffin keep it up versus at Toronto? Can Jose Berrios bounce back from his so-so debut? Let's find out.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/2/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on FanDuel

Texas Rangers versus R.A. Dickey

The Rangers are a top-five offense in baseball and get to visit hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. Our Player Rater tool lists it as the fifth-highest stadiums for runs. The Rangers have a .717 OPS versus right-handers this year. Multiple Rangers are swinging hot bats too, including Ian Desmond, Rougned Odor, Adrian Beltre, and Nomar Maraza.

Other Offense To Consider: Milwaukee Brewers versus Jered Weaver

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on FanDuel

Dallas Keuchel (HOU) vs MIL - $10,500

Keuchel has been inconsistent to begin 2016 but he has not lost in Houston since July 2014. The Twins strike out almost 23% of the time versus left-hand pitching. Given Keuchel's rough stretch, ownership should be low for this juicy matchup.

Jimmy Nelson (MIL) vs LAA - $7,100

Nelson has a 3.16 ERA through five starts, a figure that should be lower if not for poor defense behind him. He's striking out just under a batter per inning and should have a strong chance for a win tonight.

Mike Foltynewicz (ATL) @ NYM - $5,800

Here's your ultimate sleeper tourney pick. Folty was just called up by Atlanta and has a plus fastball that reaches upper 90s. If he is given a long leash he could give you 6-8 K's for next to nothing.

DFS Infielders to Consider on FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Jonathan Lucroy - $3,000

Lucroy is heating up at the plate, scoring at least 12 runs in three of his last five contests. Weaver is throwing smoke and mirrors up there, and I expect him to get burned.

First Base (1B) - Freddie Freeman - $3,200

Freeman has responded to the one-game demotion at the six-hole, scoring 20+ FanDuel points in his last four games. He is 9-for-20 (.450) versus Bartolo Colon for you BvP truthers.

Second Base (2B) - Rougned Odor - $3,900

Odor is coming off consecutive three-hit games and has a grip on the leadoff role in Texas. He's crushed righties to this point and will continue his breakout year.

Third Base (3B) - Matt Duffy - $2,700

Duffy delivered for owners yesterday with his 2 SB performance. He is hitting .310 versus lefties and gets Brandon Finnegan today. Love the price tag here.

Shortstop (SS) - Asdrubal Cabrera - $2,900

Cabrera has found a niche in the 2-hole for the Mets. He is slashing .368/.429/.421 and has hit righties well to this point, including a HR off Foltynewicz.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on FanDuel

Charlie Blackmon (OF) - $4,100

Blackmon needed no time to bounce back from his DL stint. He has 12+ FanDuel points in three straight games. He also has 3 HR in his career versus opponent James Shields.

Ian Desmond (OF) - $3,300

This man keeps delivering and no one gives him credit. He's had point totals of 27, 34, and 47 in the past eight days and provides a solid HR/SB combo threat at a reasonable price.

Domingo Santana (OF) - $2,600

Santana has been putting good swings together including consecutive 12+ games. Like the matchup versus Weaver tonight.

Billy Hamilton (OF) $2,300

Here's a name I never expected to support. Hamilton is hitting over .300 in the past week and while I expect little versus Johnny Cueto, a steal is all you need to hit value at this price. My advice: tread carefully.
