EPL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel (5/9/21) - English Premier League Soccer

Vince's FanDuel EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League soccer on 5/9/21. His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Sunday brings us three more English Premier League games for our DFS enjoyment. There are definitely implications on this slate as far as which teams will secure a spot in a European football competition for next season. I have another full breakdown for you all. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Sunday's slate.

The very large majority of my DFS content will be EPL-related, however, there is more soccer than just what is being played in England. EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Both of these squads are essnetially locked in their positions on the table. Manchester United (-130) have been in second place for a while now and likely won't move from that spot. Aston Villa are also set for a mid-table finish after a nice start to their season. We'll see what kind of lineup and effort both of these teams have for this game, but Manchester United is definitely the better team. The goal total over/under is 2.5.

West Ham United vs Everton

This game will be the most meaningful one on Sunday. With an English club guaranteed to win the Champions League in 2021 (Chelsea and Manchester City advanced to the Final later this month), a fifth EPL club can qualify for UCL play this season. Currently, West Ham (+120) own that fifth spot as they are two points ahead of Tottenham. Everton are not mathematically out of the race either, but their dreams of European football took a massive hit after a loss to Aston Villa last weekend. West Ham have been awesome at home (2nd best record), so I expect them to bring their A game in this massive fixture. The goal total over/under is 2.5.

Arsenal vs West Brom

Arsenal (-215) lost their chance at UCL qualification on Thursday when Villarreal took them down in a Europa League semifinal. They're basically down to another mid-table finish this season. That's better than West Brom though who are essentially relegated. Arsenal are the biggest favorites on the slate and have a great matchup against a bad West Brom defense.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

Arsenal have not been great in front of goal this year, however, on Sunday they get a matchup against West Brom. The Baggies have allowed the most goals in the league this year with 1.91 per game. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang ($21) is a top-tier play to target on this slate with his goal upside in a matchup like this. Aubameyang has -140 anytime scoring odds and has a great track record for scoring on Sundays.

West Brom also concede the most SOGs and 2nd most chances created in the EPL which also puts other Arsenal attackers like Willian ($15) and Bukayo Saka ($13) in my player pool. They're both very affordable for their combination of strong floors and big upsides in this game environment. They are very easy to pair with Aubameyang in a ministack against one of the worst defenses in the league.

Michail Antonio ($21) is another top attacker that I like on this slate. West Ham will be hungry for goals in this game, and they're facing an Everton backline that can be leaky at times. Everton have generally not given up many goals on the road this year, however, I expect West Ham's ability to score at home to override that in this game given the circumstances. Antonio just bagged two last weekend and is the most likely anytime scorer in this game.

It's a pretty unenticing slate for a large majority of the attackers on this slate, but a few other names to consider are Matheus Pereira ($18), Paul Pogba ($14), Tomas Soucek ($15), and Dani Ceballos ($11).

FanDuel DFS Defenders

Vladimir Coufal ($14) is the premier attacking defender to pay up for on this slate. He's been one of the most consistent attacking wingbacks of the season. He is also playing well right now with 19.6 fantasy points per game over his last six. He should have the freedom to attack in this game where his team needs a good result. Plus, he can get some decent defensive peripherals in this environment, and a clean sheet bonus is also a solid possibility.

Rob Holding ($10) is a solid option at the low end of the mid-tier guys on this slate. West Brom allow the 4th most clearances in the league which Holding can get at a decent rate. A clean sheet bonus could be coming his way as well against a low-scoring West Brom team. He's not super cheap, but the value options aren't great, so his affordable price tag will be useful.

Matt Targett ($9) is another cheap DEF to look at. He draws a plus matchup against Manchester United for collecting defensive peripherals and is one of the better Aston Villa defenders to play regardless of price.

FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers

Bernd Leno ($13) is an easy place to start this slate at GK. He is the most likely goalkeeper to get both bonuses on this slate. Arsenal are the biggest favorites, and they'll be at home taking on a West Brom team that have just 18 goals in 17 road games this season.

Lukasz Fabianski ($10) is also a good play on this slate. He's very reasonably priced and has a good home matchup. Everton have been disappointing lately, and I expect that trend to continue on this slate. WHU should have new life coming into this game knowing their chances to qualify for the UCL just jumped up during the week. Fabianski has both a nice floor and a nice ceiling on this slate.

Thanks for reading my EPL DFS lineup picks breakdown on RotoBaller and good luck!
