EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

Manchester City vs Burnley

Manchester City (-650) are humungous favorites at home against a Burnley team that has not started this season on the right foot. Burnley did get their first win of the EPL season 1-0 over Crystal Palace last weekend. Meanwhile, City are not off to that great of a start themselves. They do have a game in hand, but they currently sit in 13th place on the table. They have not been scoring nearly as many goals this year as they have in the past. In fact, they have only scored one goal in five of their eight league games, and they got blanked by Tottenham last weekend. Regardless, Vegas still has them as 2-goal favorites with a slate-high goal total over/under of 3.5. With their lack of big games this year, a full stack seems a little risky - at least until they start scoring at a higher rate.

Everton vs Leeds United

Everton (-105) are nice home favorites at home against Leeds. After getting out of the gates quickly to begin the year, Everton have lost three of their last four in the league due to some poor defending. Leeds have not been much better with only one win in their last five tries. With two defenses that are struggling and two capable attacking units, there should be plenty of excitement in this game. The goal total over/under is 3.0.

West Brom vs Sheffield United

The late game on Saturday is a ginormous relegation battle early in the year. The spread is 0.0 with West Brom (+160) slightly favored on the money line at home. This is a matchup of the two teams at the bottom of the table. Each are winless this year, and they are both coming into this game on at least three straight losses. West Brom and Sheffield are the two lowest-scoring teams in the league, and not much good can be said about their defenses either. The goal total over/under is only 2.0, and there likely will not be much in the way of goals in this game. This game can be avoided aside from a potential value play.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

In years past, this would be an easy slate to recommend a full Manchester City stack as they take on a weak Burnley team at home. However, they are not scoring goals at nearly the rate they have in past seasons. There are definitely still some good plays here within the City attackers, and they are bound to go off sooner or later, but a full stack is a risky strategy with plenty of other good spots on Saturday. Kevin de Bruyne ($23) is always a great place to start. He is an elite midfielder on the field and for fantasy purposes. This is a great matchup for him because he can have productive fantasy games even without scoring. He comes with +110 goal odds as well. Raheem Sterling ($18) is pretty cheap for his upside in this game, and Gabriel Jesus ($21) is a nice play with -118 anytime scoring odds. Rodrigo ($9) is one of my favorite value plays on this slate regardless of the direction to take with the top-tier City studs.

One of the main reasons I can get behind a City fade is the attractiveness of the Leeds/Everton attackers. Both defenses are coming into this game struggling. Everton is allowing 2.2 goals per game over their last six EPL games, and that puts Patrick Bamford ($18) easily into my player pool. He has seven goals already this season, and he's in a good matchup to add to that count. Jack Harrison ($15) is my favorite mid-tier Leeds guy, and Ezgjan Alioski ($8) is a good value option.

On the Everton side, Dominic Calvert-Lewin ($20) is the best play. His 10 goals this year leads the league. The Leeds defense has been pretty poor on the road allowing 2.0 goals per game, so DCL is in a nice spot to grow his Golden Boot lead. James Rodriguez ($16) is a cheaper way to get exposure to this game.

Karlan Grant ($10) and Conor Gallagher ($12) are both cheap ways to create some separation with your lineup. These WBU attackers have a decent matchup at home against a lowly Sheffield team. Grant leads the game in anytime scoring odds at +190, and Gallagher can get some important peripherals that should help him get into the mid-upper teens on Saturday.

FanDuel DFS Defenders

Joao Cancelo ($15) is THE elite defender to pay up for on this slate. He is averaging a strong 3.0 chances created per game in the league this year which creates a super stable floor for him even in games where City only scores a goal or two. He has been doing damage in UCL play as well. If you can find the value in the attacker positions, Cancelo is worth the $15 price tag in this matchup.

Ben Mee ($12) is still underpriced on FanDuel especially considering the matchup. City allow a ton of defensive stats to opposing defenders, which is exactly what Mee feeds off. His first two games of the season have been 15+ point games, and he should exceed that in this game environment.

With Seamus Coleman ($10) out injured, Jonjoe Kenny ($6) should slide into the starting lineup Saturday. His one start of the year was rough from a fantasy standpoint, but this game should have much more action than the Newcastle game. Kenny is a great salary-saving defender.

The rest of the defenders are awful lackluster in my opinion, but Liam Cooper ($11) and Robin Koch ($9) are solid low-owned plays that have 15+ point potential for cheap.

FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers

Ederson ($13) is about as close to a lock for both bonuses as you can get. City are massive favorites which should get him the win bonus. They are also playing at home against a Burnley team who have only scored four goals in eight games this season. City should control most of the ball in this game limiting Burnley's chances to score. That's good for our clean sheet bonus, but it also means Ederson likely will not make many saves which caps his ceiling in the low 20s. He is still a good play with a great chance of getting both bonuses.

Aaron Ramsdale ($9) is a nice mid-tier GK option on Saturday. He's facing West Brom who have just six goals in their nine league games this year. Plus, Sheffield's defense has been halfway decent this year, although not nearly as good as last season. Ramsdale is a true definition of a low floor, high ceiling play. Sheffield could lose the game, not keep a clean sheet, and Ramsdale might not make many saves. On the other hand, Sheffield can win and keep WBU scoreless, which would result in a great fantasy day for Ramsdale. There is an inherent risk in this play, but it can pay off.

We have seen some success with playing cheap GKs against Manchester City this season. Nick Pope ($7) fits that bill. City have not been blowing teams out of the water, but they are still forcing opposing GKs to many a ton of saves. Burnley's defense is not awful either with 1.5 goals allowed per game this year. They just kept Palace scoreless last weekend too. It is a little risky to take Pope on the road, but he has a strong floor with save points and his pricetag will allow you to spend on other players.
