Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform. We now have enough data to focus on positive and negative trends by implementing my trend chart where I look at both L25 and L10 to help see which teams are trending in which direction.
Welcome back to the discount rack! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, April 8th, 2024. We're faced with another flawed NHL schedule, giving us only 2 games this evening, fortunately, both are important games for all 4 teams.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 4/8/24
As stated earlier, I have begun to implement my personal trend chart. Below, you'll see stats that reflect the average of L25 and L10. This happens to weigh L10 heavier, which tightens our sample and shows both positive and negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Alex Nedeljkovic PIT - DK $7.2K || FD $7.4K
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
Needle finds himself the hot tender for the Pens over the past week or two over Jarry. It's a daunting task keeping Toronto at bay faces him tonight but Pittsburgh is back in playoff contention and needs another 2 points tonight to get back over Detroit. The shot volume should be there for a chance at the save bonus on DK.

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Teddy Blueger VAN - DK $2.5K || FD $3.8K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
With options limited on a 2-game slate, we're scraping the bottom of the value barrel for minimum-price value upside. Now Blueger lacks in the TOI department and gets no PP or PK which limits his opportunities, but metrics have shown that he has made the best of his chances. He can fire off a few shots per game and currently has over a half-goal expected difference. Upside is the name of the game here.

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Drew O'Connor PIT - DK $3.5K || FD $4.3K
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
Surprisingly O'Connor has been the one to step in the void left by Guentzel and has performed quite well. He's not a guaranteed goal-scoring threat, but he takes shots and tosses in a block or two. With Drew now skating with Crosby, the high chance of a secondary assist also creates some upside at a decent value.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
Brayden McNabb VGK - DK $3.6K || FD $4.6K
Opponent - Vancouver Canucks
McNabb has been on a block tear lately, hitting the DK bonus in 4 straight games. With Pietrangelo expected to be out once again, Brayden should continue to get his fair share of minutes 5v5 as well as slotted on Vegas PK1.
Others to consider: Zach Whitecloud VGK (DK $2.6K || FD $3.7K)
