DraftKings EuroLeague DFS Lineup Picks for 1/29/21 - Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Mike Marteny offers his DraftKings daily fantasy EuroLeague basketball plays and sleepers for 1/29/21. His EuroLeague DFS lineup picks and sleepers will help you win on DraftKings.

The week of EuroLeague ends with a larger five-game slate. Yesterday, Khimki getting blown off the court hurt the bottom line. Today I'm more focused on finding the matchups that can produce a high scoring but close game at the same time. There isn't as much value on this slate, but we also don't have a guy like Shved that we absolutely have to try and cram in the lineup.

This is one of those slates where we really have to pay attention to the questionable tags. This is especially true for the Athens front. Since injuries don't have to be disclosed in the EuroLeague, it's a lot harder to predict when returns might be made when nothing is known about the injury. That is where we're at with Georgios Papagiannis. At least we know that Ioannis Papapetrou is battling a minor knee injury. If either one of them play, they may be worth a look. However, it is very common for EuroLeague teams to take it easy with guys returning from injury and we have no domestic league games to try and predict minutes.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy EuroLeague lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/29/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard, forward, and center, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings EuroLeague DFS Guards

Wade Baldwin, Munich ($9,800)

The injury to Mike James opens the top up a bit. We're probably not getting 3x out of Pierria Henry at that price. You can chase another 50-spot out of Nick Weiler-Babb if you want, but he had just 41.75 DraftKings points in the prior three games combined before his outburst earlier this week. I'm going back to the Baldwin well. He wont have to worry about Mike James on the other side, and he has been far more consistent than NWB on the season. Baldwin put up 25.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting against CSKA with James on the court. Baldwin should at least flirt with 30 here.

Daniel Hackett, CSKA ($7,600)

Darrun Hilliard was thought to be the guy that would soak up a lot of James's production, but that didn't come to fruition on Wednesday. It was Hackett who started and had the better game. CSKA spread everything around more without James on the court though, so no one player got a big boost. Hackett was the closest, but it's mostly a product of him being inconsistent. There's a chance that this is a Hilliard game, but for me Hackett is the source of the more consistent production in this one.

Carlos Alocen, Real Madrid ($5,300)

The Real Madrid backcourt is beaten up with Nick Laprovittola and Jaycee Carroll out. That leaves veteran Sergio Llull and Alocen as the other only guards that have logged minutes so far this season. Real Madrid has no aversion to running four forwards, but Llull is a shadow of his former-MVP self. He doesn't play more than half the game anymore. That frees up a lot of minutes and responsibilities for Alocen at a very low price.

Also consider: Norris Cole, Lyon ($9,500); Klemen Prepelic, Valencia ($7,700); Martin Hermannsson, Valencia ($5,600)

DraftKings EuroLeague DFS Forwards

Walter Tavares, Real Madrid ($11,300)

The injuries at guard are resulting in a few more minutes for Tavares, but it has actually limited him of late. If he hadn't dropped a 40 on Munich earlier this year, I might be off of him all together. What really has me on Tavares is that he ravaged Munich in just 22 minutes. Give him more minutes and a few more shots, and Tavares is a guy that could put up a whole lot of crooked numbers in this one. He has the highest upside on the entire slate. Jalen Reynolds almost matched him blow-for-blow in the first tilt, so I have no issues running them in the same line.

Konstantinos Mitoglu, Athens ($10,200)

I was hoping that a sub-par Round 22 against the tough Real Madrid front would drop the price on Mitoglu, but no such luck. This is an excellent matchup for Athens up front, but if either of the Papa's return, Mitoglu is going to see enough of a decrease in production to make sure he has no chance of paying off this price tag. If you aren't going to have time to check your lineup leading up to tipoff, it's best to avoid this situation entirely. If you are going to be able to check on the status of the Papa's, Mitoglu is a nice play if they are both out. If one or both are in, I think I'm fading this situation entirely. That includes using Zach Auguste as a value play. There are enough other places to attack.

Mike Tobey, Valencia ($8,100)

It takes some stones to mess with this Valencia frontcourt right now. Bojan Dubljevic was on an absolute tear before he went down right after Christmas. He made his return to EuroLeague action earlier this week, but played just 15 minutes. That was enough to kill the value of both he and teammate Nikola Kalinic. Bojan didn't steal any production from Tobey, who has been the only constant in the Valencia frontcourt since Dublejevic went down. Tobey is the only relatively safe spot here, but this is such a good matchup that I will have a couple of Valencia shares.

Rudy Fernandez, Real Madrid ($5,100)

Rudy hurt his back in Round 20, missed Round 21, and returned in limited capacity earlier this week. There is implied risk here since he only played ten minutes against Athens, but there are still minutes open with Real Madrid so thin at guard. Fernandez is a bit of a tweener anyway, so he was absorbing many of these minutes before he went down. It's either going to be Rudy or Gabriel Deck. Deck was a monster on Wednesday, which means he's due to go dormant for another month. I expect ownership to go way up on Deck, but I'm gambling that Rudy takes his rightful minutes here.

Also consider: Jalen Reynolds, Munich ($11,100); Trey Thompkins, Real Madrid ($9,400); James Gist, Munich ($6,700)
