DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/17/16): MLB DFS Advice

The baseball season is winding down, but there's still plenty of action today on DraftKings. Another Saturday brings another full slate of games, meaning that the lineup combinations are virtually endless. Finding the right mix of value and high-priced players will be the key to success today.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/17/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Baltimore Orioles vs. Matt Andriese (RHP)

The Orioles recently faced Matt Andriese on September 5 in Tampa and torched him for seven earned runs in five innings of work. There's no reason to think that Baltimore won't be able to repeat that production, especially with the game being played in hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Lefty Chris Davis went yard against him in that game and needs to be part of a lineup stack today. Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo have also had success in their careers against the right-hander.

Colorado Rockies vs. Edwin Jackson (RHP)

The Rockies are home today, so that should be enough to play them as a lineup stack. Add in the fact that current Colorado hitters have a lifetime .324 average against Edwin Jackson, and the Rockies make a ton of sense today. Jackson has struggled this year, posting an ERA of 5.32. He's given up a total of 20 runs in his last five starts. He hasn't pitched in Coors yet this year, but the numbers are not in his favor.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jake Arrieta, CHC vs. MIL - $10,700

Although he's not pitching like he was at the start of the season, Arrieta is still a dominant pitcher who can be very helpful to daily fantasy lineups. The Chicago ace isn't a sure bet, as he's given up five or more runs twice in his last five starts. However, when he's on top of his game he can easily rack up double-digit strike outs. Current Milwaukee hitters have just a lifetime average of .230 against him, adding to his start value today.

Chris Tillman, BAL vs. TB - $7,900

With the Orioles being a good stack option today, Tillman also makes a good choice as a starting pitcher. He's been very streaky this year, but he looked very strong in his last outing, one run in six innings against the Tigers, and it's worth taking a chance on him repeating it. He's had both good and bad games against Tampa this year, allowing eight earned runs in 23.2 innings. Baltimore is poised to put up some big numbers today at home, a place where Tillman has racked up an 8-2 record so far.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Kurt Suzuki, MIN vs. NYM - $2,800

Suzuki sat out Thursday after suffering a cut on the chin, but was back in the lineup Friday night. The veteran catcher isn't normally thought of as a target for daily lineups, but he's not a bad option when you need to save some cap space. He's hitting a respectable .268, which is above his career average of .257. He has just eight home runs on the season, but two of them have come in the last week. He has two double-digit fantasy performances in his last four games and is someone to target as a means to afford some bigger bats today.

First Base (1B)

Paul Goldschmidt, ARI vs. LAD - $5,100

Goldschmidt just keeps plugging along this season, but doesn't seem to get the fantasy love he deserves. He's averaging almost 10 points a night on DraftKings and is about as steady as they come at first base. His combination of power and ability to hit for average make him a good target on most nights. He enters Saturday fresh off a five-game hit streak and at least 10 fantasy points in three of the last five contests.

Second Base (2B)

Devon Travis, TOR at LAA - $3,600

Anytime that you can catch Travis at a price below $4,000 you need to take advantage. He's been one of the best hitting second basemen this year and enters today with a 13-game hit streak. Seven of those games have been multi-hit performances, including Friday night. He's averaging nearly eight fantasy points a game and is almost always worth a look in daily leagues. Travis is hitting .304 for the year and .361 in the month of September.

Shortstop (SS)

Andrelton Simmons, LAA vs. TOR - $3,500

Simmons won't really hit for power, but his .286 average proves that he's good at getting on base. In daily fantasy terms, he's been a very solid play on most night, putting up six fantasy points a game with a price tag that's hung around the $3,500 mark. He's put up at least 10 fantasy points in four of his last six games and makes for an interesting option today.

Third Base (3B)

Ryon Healy, OAK at TEX - $3,400

Healy is still getting overlooked in daily lineups, but he's been providing great value. With an average of seven fantasy points and a low price tag, Healy is a fantastic option. He enters today with a seven-game hit streak, including five multi-hit games in a row. Thanks to the current hit streak he's hitting over .400 in the las seven days. He's got a 2-for-5 lifetime against Yu Darvish and makes for a very sneaky play today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Carlos Gonzalez, COL vs. SD - $5,600

Using any Colorado player today will be costly, but Carlos Gonzalez is worth the price. He's 7-for-14 lifetime with two doubles, a triple, and six RBI against opposing starter Edwin Jackson. He's been good lately overall, hitting over .300 in the month of September. Throw in the fact that today's game is at Coors, and Gonzalez is almost a no-brainer. He has of course pounded the ball at home, hitting .327 with 18 home runs in Denver.

Jarrod Dyson, KC vs. CHW- $4,000

Dyson has been a big fantasy asset this year, particularly in daily leagues. He's averaging six points a game, and enters today on a hot streak. He's got an nine-game hit streak and is batting .333 in the last week. In his lifetime against Miguel Gonzalez he's got a .727 average. Dyson got the night off Friday and should be well-rested for Saturday.

Ender Inciarte, ATL vs. WAS - $3,400

Inciarte has provided good value for fantasy owners. He's got a very good price and hits in the leadoff spot, albeit in a weak Atlanta lineup. Still, the lefty has been productive with a .288 average. He won't provide much power, but can help in terms of getting on base and stealing bases. He's had some moderate success against opposing starter Gio Gonzalez, going 4-for-10 in his lifetime.
