DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/28/16): MLB DFS Advice

A big Saturday of MLB action awaits today and there are plenty of DraftKings contests to participate in.

The word of the day is value. There are some high priced pitchers available, but you obviously won't be able to take advantage of them all without finding some cheap players to fill out your lineup.

Of course, if you want to go the ace route, then you'll want to pair up the likes of Madison Bumgarner, Zack Greinke, Noah Syndergaard, or Danny Salazar. Unfortunately, it's often tough to pick two stud pitchers, so you'll want to check out some other targets.

As always, there are plenty of hitters to choose from, both studs and sleepers.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/28/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Cleveland Indians vs. Ubaldo Jimenez (RHP)

Jimenez enters today after allowing six runs in back-to-back starts. It's been rough sailing for the veteran right-hander this season and he's been a good pitcher to stack against recently. Yan Gomes and Mike Napoli have both been successful against him in their careers and make for good options. Lefty Jason Kipnis also makes for a great play as a stacking option.

Seattle Mariners vs. Phil Hughes (RHP)

Hughes hasn't won since April 18 and has an ERA of 5.55 this season. The Mariners have been one of the best hitting teams in baseball and should be ready to tee off on Hughes today. Lefties Adam Lind, Robinson Cano, and Leonys Martin should all be targets. Nelson Cruz has been hitting well and has two career home runs off Hughes.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Madison Bumgarner, SF at COL - $10,800

This one will cost you, and there's obviously some risk involved pitching at Coors Field, but the San Francisco ace has been dominant this season and always has a chance to rack up a high number of strikeouts. Because of the matchup, you will actually save a bit of cap space compared to where his price normally is. This will be his second start in Colorado this season after coming out with a win on May 6. In that game, he struck out 10 Rockies and allowed two earned runs. You'll have to find some value picks to fill out your lineup, but spend the money on Bumgarner today.

Carlos Rodon,  CWS at KC  - $7,700

If you are planning on taking one of the aces and to pair with a value pick, than Rondon makes for a nice cheap play. His salary is under $8,000 and he is facing the Royals, a team which he picked up a victory against in his last start. In the May 22 contest, Rodon went six innings and allowed two runs while striking out four. He'll look to repeat that success against the same Royals today.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Yan Gomes, CLE vs Bal - $4,000

Gomes got the night off Friday so he'll be well rested for today's action. He's hitting just .177 for the season, but does have six homers and is coming off a 14-point fantasy performance Wednesday. He's 3-for-9 lifetime against Ubaldo Jimenez and makes for a decent sleeper play in tournaments today.

First Base (1B)

Adam Lind, SEA vs. MIN - $3,800

The veteran first baseman has heated up despite having just a .242 average. He hasn't played since his huge game Wednesday in which he collected four total hits, including two home runs and a double. The lefty should fare well against righty Phil Hughes today.

Second Base (2B)

Jed Lowrie, OAK vs DET - $3,500

Lowrie has quietly gone about his business this season and is hitting over .300. Although he's yet to hit a homer, he's been producing nearly six fantasy points a game. That's an acceptable number for such a value price. Adding to Lowrie's value is the fact that he's easily over looked, especially in tournaments.

Shortstop (SS)

Brandon Crawford, SF at COL - $5,400

You wouldn't know it from his season average, but Crawford has been a great source of production in daily fantasy formats. He's not always among the highest shortstops as far as salary, but he is this weekend considering that he's playing in Coors. He's faced Chris Rusin 10 times in the past and has four hit, including a home run and a double.

Third Base (3B)

David Wright, LAD at NYM - $3,600

Wright went yard again Friday night and is absolutely on fire right now. His batting average is still low, but the power is certainly there. He's recorded double-digit fantasy points in each of the last three games and should be considered a must-start until he cools off.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nelson Cruz, SEA vs. MIN - $4,600

Cruz is having a great season with an average hovering near .300 and he's already hit double-digit home runs. He's been a consistent hitter thus far and has been very good to fantasy owners. Cruz has a great matchup with Phil Hughes and needs to be in your lineup.

Mark Trumbo, BAL at CLE - $3,900

Trumbo's move to Baltimore's lineup has lived up to the high expectations so far. He's hitting .284 for the year with 15 home runs and 34 RBI. He's got home runs in back-to-back games and has been one of the top fantasy producers among outfielders.

Jorge Soler, CHC vs. PHI - $3,500

Soler is still hitting just .214 this season, but he's still been able to help daily fantasy lineups. He's got two double-digit fantasy performances in his last four games and his home run Friday game him two in the last three games. Soler shouldn't be highly owned, particularly in tournaments today, so take a chance on cheap production.
