Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Tuesday 8/31

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/31/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a lackluster start by Zach Wheeler last night, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have nine pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Four more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with a shade more than half of the pitchers to choose from today. We can work with that.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/31 - Shallow Leagues

Nick Solak (2B/OF, RHB, TEX) - 49.8% Rostered

Matchup: vs. COL LHP Austin Gomber

It appears as though the time at Triple-A Round Rock did Solak some good. He is riding an eight-game hitting streak since spending a month on the farm. Solak is hitting .364 in that span with two homers, a steal, six runs scored, and seven RBI. Considering Solak was able to continue his hitting streak against Houston's best pitchers, I'm not scared of anyone on this Rockies staff.

Ian Happ (OF, LHB, CHC) - 38.8% Rostered

Matchup: at MIN RHP Jon Gant

Happ's heater is still going. He is hitting .368 with four homers and nine RBI over the last fortnight. The steal is just a bonus. He has two homers and six RBI in the last four games alone. The Cubs have scored 21 runs in the three game set against the White Sox and their staff is far superior to Minnesota's. Cubs hitters are looking good early in the week as well.

Nicky Lopez (2B/SS, LHB, KC) - 31.3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CLE RHP Zach Plesac

Lopez has nine hits in the last three games alone! Overall, he picked up ten hits against the Mariners in the four game set, scoring four times and driving in a pair. Lopez may not get you much for counting stats, but he can provide a huge boost to your average at the MI position, which is sometimes hard to fill. Lopez is hitting a blistering .423 over the last two weeks with a homer, six RBI, five steals, and eight runs scored. He is contributing across the board right now.

Jonathan Villar (2B/SS/3B, SHB, NYM) - 23.8% Rostered

Matchup: vs. MIA RHP Edward Cabrera

Villar is hitting a blistering .533 in the last week with a homer, four runs scored, and a pair of RBI. The Mets offense hasn't been great of late, so expecting a lot of counting stats from Villar could be a lot to ask. However, he looks like he's going to help your average quite a bit. You can do worse with waiver fodder.

Hitter Streamers for 8/31 - Deeper Leagues

Jake Meyers (OF, RHB, HOU) - 13% Rostered

Matchup: at SEA LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Meyers just keeps on hitting. He has hit in five straight and in 11 of his last 13 games. He only has one homer in that span, but Meyers has 11 RBI and five runs scored. Most of the waiver picks tonight are guys that are hitting for a high average of late, but all of them have upside in other categories even if they aren't showing it lately.

Jo Adell (OF, RHB, LAA) - 12.4% Rostered

Matchup: vs. NYY RHP Jameson Taillon

While this year has been a bit of a disaster for the Angels, the future looks bright with Adell and Marsh coming on strong in August. Adell is hitting .304 with four runs scored and six RBI in the last week. We would like to see more speed from Adell, but it will come with time. We know how touted Adell was coming into the season. Now that he's hitting for average, he's worth playing hoping for counting stats since he wont hurt you.

Bobby Dalbec (1B, RHB, BOS) - 11.7% Rostered

Matchup: at TB LHP Ryan Yarbrough

Dalbec is 6-for-13 with four homers, nine RBI, and five runs scored in just the last four games! Now he gets a crack at Yarbrough, a guy that he has a homer and two RBI against in six plate appearances. I'll jump on board Dalbec's hot streak in this matchup!

Jorge Alfaro (C/OF, RHB, MIA) - 8.8% Rostered

Matchup: vs. NYM RHP Trevor Williams

Alfaro is riding a modest seven-game hitting streak right now. He is hitting .393 with a homer, nine RBI, and three runs scored in that time. He has even stolen a base! Alfaro is doing a bit of everything right now and is eligible at catcher. This ownership is downright criminal.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/31 - Shallow Leagues

Tarik Skubal (LHP, DET) - 40.8% rostered

Matchup: vs. Oakland

After a strong June, Skubal tailed off in July. He has been back on track in August, but fewer people went and picked him back up despite allowing just four runs over 22.2 innings in four August starts. On top of that, Skubal racked up 27 strikeouts in that span. Strikeouts are up, runs are down, and his ERA is nearly a run and a half lower at home this season. Skubal is an excellent streaming option today.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/31 - Deeper Leagues

Trevor Williams (RHP, NYM) - 2.1% rostered

Matchup: vs. Miami

Williams has only allowed one run in 8.2 innings as a Met so far. The bad news is that came across three appearances. Williams has only made one start as a Met and seems unlikely to go five innings in this start. Still, this is a good matchup and Williams should help the ratios early in your matchup in deep leagues. Despite solid volume, most of the waiver pitchers are riding cold streaks right now.
