We have 57 entries in the RotoBaller ESPN College Pick 'em group this season. We didn't have our first perfect week in the RotoBaller group last year until Week 5. Three entries were perfect in Week 1 this year! Dr.SteveBrule, Brave and Crazy!, and Mike got all 10 picks right. MIZ#2 only missed the one-point […]

I hope you all enjoyed those easy matchups out there in Week 1. It gets a little tougher for most teams in Week 2. Arizona State's offense, which was in this article last week, led all teams with 32.25 fantasy points. This was a case where piling on yards really helped the team's offensive score. […]

All week leading up to our Labor Day smorgasbord of games, the narrative was that there weren't any "marquee" matchups. The Ole Miss-Louisville game was the only game featuring a ranked matchup. This is why we don't listen to narratives. What we got was UMass winning a game for the first time in 22 months...over […]

This is the last Sunday without the NFL, so college football decided to hold three marquee games, all at NFL Stadium. This is one of the few good ideas that the NCAA has had in the last decade. We have the Apple Cup at Lumen Field, Louisville and Mississippi from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, and […]

You're not done yet, are you? The day just started 10 hours ago! It's not over until we say it is! "Pac-12 After Dark" is back and maybe better than ever. We've even got a throwback to the old Pac-12 After Dark with UCLA heading up to Cal. Central Michigan heads to New Mexico for […]

DraftKings' night slates often feature the marquee prime-time matchups in a standalone slate. FanDuel adds them all to the main slate and leaves off other good games in the afternoon. DraftKings setting up the slates like this is part of the reason that I play almost exclusively on DK now. Most of the good games […]

We've got the first of 14 monster DraftKings slates that will grace our Saturday afternoons all season long! We've got some ranked teams in action such as Texas, Indiana, and Ohio State. We've got some rebuilt teams such as Penn State and Auburn. Oregon paid Boise $2.5 million so they wouldn't have to go play […]

The Week 0 appetizer was a good one. We had 11 games on Thursday and eight more on Friday. Only 72 more games to go for our Week 1! The bad news is that only 33 of those are FBS vs. FBS contests. I won't pick FBS vs. FCS games. The lines are usually really […]

Toughest schedules are hard to gauge. They are all subjective, based on a ranking system that is biased toward teams that did well the previous season or toward teams that are traditionally good. Don't even get me started on the conference bias. Nine SEC teams are ranked in the AP top 25. Five are in […]

DraftKings took the same approach as the Thursday slate this week and avoided all FBS vs. FCS matchups. I don't blame them. It's hard for them to get accurate pricing on those teams and just as hard for us to pick them. This levels the field a little more. We have three ranked teams in […]

Week 0 gave us eight interesting games. We saw old faces in new places. Some fared better than others. We saw old faces in old places with predictably good results. The appetizer is over. Now we get into the heart of college football. There are 91 games spread out over the next five days. Only […]

College football isn't officially back until the ESPN College Pick'em pools are opened. Now, we can finally make some picks! As those of you who have been around for a while know, we run a Pick'em pool for RotoBaller readers. We encourage you to join because RotoBaller is giving away some prizes aside from the […]

Last week was a solid appetizer. Week 0 came and went without any major upsets at the FBS level. Some teams looked better than we thought they would. Some looked awful. Some of those teams are back in action this week. We have a whole new slate of players for Thursday. There are a total […]

We not only get a full week of college football games, but we get five straight days of high-quality college football. We have 91 college football games between Thursday and Monday this week. There aren't many teams with "bad" matchups in Week 1, but considering some teams have a ridiculously easy FCS opponent or a […]

We already covered which teams will have the toughest road to glory this year. What about the inverse? We're only going to cover Power 4 teams since the schedules for Group of 6 teams are inherently easier. Believe it or not, there are teams in power conferences who only play one or two ranked teams. […]

We finally had some college football games over the weekend. The eight-game slate wasn't a monster by any means, but there was still some very good (and very bad) football. Did any of the eight teams deserve a spot in our rankings? Absolutely! Do all eight of them? Not a chance! Florida State won ugly. […]

We've waited months for this! College football is finally back! It has been a crazy eight months of free agency, court rulings, players breaching NIL contracts, players trying to breach NIL contracts, and even 2026-altering injuries in camp. We can finally put all of that behind us. College football dropped the "Week 0" bit, but […]

College football has always induced passionate arguments from fans. For over 100 years, the argument over who was the best team wasn't settled on the field. When BYU won the national championship in 1984, the big conferences were so mad that they began collaborating on ways to keep something like that from ever happening again. […]

The preseason polls are out for both the AP and the Coaches Polls. Our preseason top 25 is also out, so we'll go through the discrepancies between our poll and the publicly released ones. I did a piece like this last year. As with any preseason polls, there is right, and there is wrong. I […]

We have waited over eight months for this! Where did the time go? Wait...no one is saying that. College football is finally back! I'll be with you every step of the way this season with DFS picks for every slate, ESPN College Pick 'Em picks, top 25 rankings every week, and every game picked against […]

The first AP College Football Top 25 Poll of the 2026 season dropped on Monday, August 17. These differ from the USA Today Coaches Poll since this poll is voted on by writers and not coaches. As with the Coaches Poll, 25 points are awarded for a first-place vote, and one point is awarded for […]

The summer camps are coming to a close around the country as we get ready for the start of the season, which is only a week away. We've waited eight months for this! We'll revisit the power rankings as we head into the 2026 season. Some camp battles are decided. Some are still up in […]

One good thing about NIL is that it brought back college football games on gaming systems where you can actually use your favorite player and not have to know his number. It has also opened the door for fantasy football leagues, much like the NFL. The NFL has been wildly successful and has added to […]

The NFL version of fantasy football has been wildly successful and has added to the popularity of the game. College football has a few more barriers in place, not the least of which is the fact that CBS, ESPN, and Fox all have contracts with conferences. ESPN could still run CFB fantasy leagues, but others […]

We are happy to announce the sixth annual RotoBaller ESPN College Football Pick'em contest! I brought this over here when I joined RotoBaller, and it's a great way to match wits with fellow RotoBaller writers and readers! ESPN College Pick'em highlights 10 games per week. All you have to do is pick the winner of […]

The first major poll of the 2026 college football season has dropped. That means we are getting closer! We are under three weeks away from Week 0. That's not a bad thing! The USA Today Coaches Poll ballot is sent randomly to a selection of FBS coaches. The coaches then rank the teams from 1 […]

There are now 67 "Power Four" teams in college football, which accounts for nearly half of the FBS. There have been a lot of different quarterbacks to come through those schools. How do we go about deciding the best quarterback in each school's history? Is it the one with the most wins? The one with […]

College football is almost here! We've waited through eight long months of baseball (even though it was my first love), flopping, more flopping, the NCAA Tournament, the WNBA season, two months of NBA playoffs, and epic flopping in the World Cup. It's refreshing to get back to the best sport of all.  I do make […]

Conference realignment is all the rage right now as conferences look to monopolize good teams to get better TV deals and teams look for more security. Money has destroyed much of what makes college football special. The collapse of the Pac-12 and the radical changes in the Big 12 have led to many rivalry games […]

College fantasy football has been around, but it's quickly gaining popularity thanks to the launch of Yahoo leagues! They don't include all 138 FBS teams, but we do get 68 teams to choose from between the Power 4 Conferences and Notre Dame.  This is a new wrinkle to veterans of NFL fantasy football, so we're […]
