Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Sunday 8/29

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/29/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a horrible start by Jameson Taillon on Thursday, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have six pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Five more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with nearly two thirds of the pitchers going today to finish off our week right!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/29 - Shallow Leagues

Nick Solak (2B/OF, RHB, TEX) - 46.9% Rostered

Matchup: vs. HOU RHP Zack Greinke

It appears as though the time at Triple-A Round Rock did Solak some good. He is riding a six-game hitting streak since spending a month on the farm. Solak is hitting .375 in that span with a homer, a steal, four runs scored, and four RBI. Considering Solak was able to continue his hitting streak against Framber Valdez last night, I'm not scared of Greinke.

Ian Happ (OF, LHB, CHC) - 38.8% Rostered

Matchup: at CWS RHP Dylan Cease

Happ's heater is still going. He is hitting .385 with four homers and 11 RBI over the last fortnight. The steal is just a bonus. He has two homers and six RBI in the last three games alone. The Cubs have scored 20 runs in the first two games of this series. I definitely want pieces of this offense in the series finale, especially a guy that has hit like Happ over the last two weeks.

Patrick Wisdom (1B/3B/OF, RHB, CHC) - 34.2% Rostered

Matchup: at CWS RHP Dylan Cease

Okay, so I was wrong about Wisdom not abusing Lance Lynn like he did Dallas Keuchel. Wisdom has four homers and six RBI in the first two games of this series and statistically. Cease is the worst of the three starters for the White Sox in this series. That bullpen is getting trashed by the Cubs as well. I'm taking Wisdom again. He loves hitting on the South Side.

Christian Walker (1B, RHB, ARI) - 29.7% Rostered

Matchup: at PHI LHP Ranger Suarez

Walker is hitting .361 with a pair of homers, seven runs scored, and eight RBI in the last two weeks. He must have heard some of the rumblings about Arizona phasing him out with or without promoting Seth Beer. It has been a rough season for Walker, but he is hitting well on this current road trip. He's worth a look if you need a boost on the last day of your matchup.

Hitter Streamers for 8/29 - Deeper Leagues

Yandy Diaz (1B/3B, RHB, TB) - 12.4% Rostered

Matchup: at BAL RHP Spenser Watkins

It's not recommended to chase a fickle thing like average, but Diaz is hitting .421 over the last week. Those are mostly empty numbers with just two RBI and five runs in that span, but the point is Diaz wont hurt you if you're chasing average. He is also a strong candidate for some sort of counting stats in a friendly hitting environment against a BP pitcher. Diaz has two of those runs and one of the two RBI in the first two games of this series in Baltimore.

Jake Meyers (OF, RHB, HOU) - 11.9% Rostered

Matchup: at TEX LHP Taylor Hearn

Even though Kyle Tucker is back in the lineup, the Astros have kept the hot-hitting Meyers in there. He is hitting .421 with a homer, nine RBI, and four runs in the last eight games. Those of you who pounced on Meyers for the last couple of days have been rewarded with three hits, a run, and two RBI so far in this series. Look for Meyers to finish out the series in Arlington strong.

Bobby Dalbec (1B, RHB, BOS) - 10.7% Rostered

Matchup: at CLE RHP Eli Morgan

Dalbec has two multi-homer games in the last dozen that he has played. He has a modest three-game hitting streak going, but understand that Dalbec is still an all-or-nothing type player. However, that all might be multiple homers. He has five in the last two weeks and drove in seven runs on Thursday night. Aside from a stray gem against the Twins a couple of weeks ago, Morgan has been mostly dreadful this year. There's potential here.

Jorge Alfaro (C/OF, RHB, MIA) - 6.4% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CIN RHP Tyler Mahle

Road Mahle is good Mahle, but Alfaro is on such a heater that it may not matter. In his current six-game hitting streak, Alfaro is hitting .400 with a homer, nine RBI, and three runs scored. He even stole a base yesterday! Is your catcher providing this for you? Since Alfaro routinely plays in the outfield now, he should be in the lineup this afternoon whereas your regular catcher may sit. Add him for the final push this week!

Pitcher Streamers for 8/29 - Shallow Leagues

Kwang Hyun Kim (LHP, STL) - 17.4% rostered

Matchup: at Pittsburgh

Kim hasn't gone more that four innings in August, so it appears as though the Cardinals are limiting his pitches/innings. That's not ideal for streaming purposes, but he is playing the Pirates. That team turns fringe starters into fantasy gold several times per week. If Kim can manage five innings, he has a great shot at a win. If not, he should at least help the ratios and strikeouts. If you desperately need a win though, you likely need to look elsewhere.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/29 - Deeper Leagues

Chris Archer (RHP, TB) - 9.7% rostered

Matchup: at Baltimore

Archer has thrown just 6.1 innings in three 2021 appearances. He left his last start with a sore hip after about 40 pitches (after he was cleared to go 75). We can reasonably expect that Archer's pitch count is around 75 again. Considering that Archer has never been particularly efficient, five innings seems unlikely. However, he did strike out four White Sox in two innings in his return from a long IL stint. Archer is a sneaky source of strikeouts here and shouldn't hurt the ratios (much) in the process.

Aaron Ashby (RHP, MIL) - 0.7% rostered

Matchup: at Minnesota

Ashby has eight strikeouts in six innings over his last two appearances and draws a Minnesota team that loves to strike out. There is risk here, but Ashby is another guy that can help you win strikeouts if you don't need a win and can afford a hit to ratios. Ashby likely wont hurt the ERA here, but his 1.73 WHIP in 8.2 major league innings this year is concerning.
