On Wednesday, the New York Mets declined club options for the 2021 season on catcher Wilson Ramos, third baseman Todd Frazier, and catcher Robinson Chirinos, making them free agents. Ramos' option was worth $10 million. Frazier's was worth $6.5 million. Chirinos' option was worth $5.75 million. The Mets will, instead, pay those three players a combined $4 million in buyouts. In 2020, Ramos hit just .239 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 142 at-bats, after a somewhat decent 2019 campaign with the Mets. Frazier hit just .236 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 2020 with the Mets and Texas Rangers combined. Chirinos, who also split his 2020 campaign between the Rangers and Mets, hit just .162 with one home run and seven RBI in 2020. Even assuming Ramos, Frazier, and/or Chirinos sign with other clubs in advance of the 2021 season, they will hold little fantasy value.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBallerRead More News
