FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/23/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/22/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

FanDuel's "main slate, which will begin at 6 p.m. (eastern), features six games to close out the abbreviated NBA week. To start the night, the Timberwolves will head to Denver for a meeting with the Nuggets. Not only will Minnesota be without Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been absent as a result of a wrist injury, D'Angelo Russell will sit due to knee soreness, which will open the door for guys like Malik Beasley, Juan Hernangomez, Naz Reid, and Jordan McLaughlin to get some extra opportunities to make some noise on the fantasy end. Other notable injuries on Sunday include Victor Oladipo, who likely won't play after leaving Friday's game against New York with back spasms, and of course, Damian Lillard, who will miss another week or two with a groin issue.

Our Target game of the night is highlighted by the Pelicans visiting the Bay Area for a showdown with the Warriors. This contest is anticipated to have a combined overall score of nearly 240 points, with New Orleans being favored by eight. Washington at Chicago is followed right behind at 231 points, and with the Bulls dealing with a handful of injuries, there will be plenty of value available in that one.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/23/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Also, give me a follow on Twitter @DennisMClausen. Good luck.

FanDuel DFS Guards

C.J. McCollum - SG, vs. DET ($7,000)

In the three games that McCollum has been without Lillard thus far this year, he is averaging nearly 29 points on 24 shot attempts. Despite the Blazers falling to the Pelicans on Friday, McCollum still had a solid outing by finishing with 44.2 fantasy points. Look for him to continue to carry the load offensively while leaving some scraps behind for Trevor Ariza, Gary Trent Jr., and Anfernee Simons.

Malik Beasley - SG, @ DEN ($5,200)

Beasley will make his return to the Mile High City after being dealt to the Timberwolves prior to the trade deadline. Though he had his occasional bouts of efficiency with his former club, he has shined with Minnesota by averaging 23.3 points, six boards, and 2.5 assists, while shooting 43.9 percent from deep. After putting up 18 shots the other night against the Celtics, look for Beasley to remain heavily involved offensively, especially with D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns not in the equation.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Andrew Wiggins - SF, @ NOP ($7,800)

After an uneventful tenure with Minnesota, Wiggins now has a new home in Golden State. His career there has gotten off to a good start as he is averaging nearly 23 points in his first four games as a Warrior. Whether he remains with the team come next season is unknown, but for now, we can take advantage of his expanded role in a lineup that is without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Zion Williamson - PF, @ GSW ($7,700)

Despite playing in just 11 games this season, the rookie has already made some waves by becoming the youngest player in history to score at least 20 points in seven straight outings. He hasn't accumulated less than 37.3 fantasy points in each of his last three games and has the luxury of going up against a Warriors squad that will be without Draymond Green and potentially Marquese Chriss.

Juan Hernangomez - SF, @ DEN ($4,700)

If you are looking to make some room in your lineup for the likes of Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Jokic, you can save yourself some dough by looking to Juancho. Just like in Malik Beasley's case, Hernangomez has enjoyed some additional run in Minnesota. He is averaging 32.7 fantasy points in his last two games and should get plenty of time on the floor against his former team on Sunday.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Nikola Jokic - C, vs. MIN ($10,500)

Out of all of the big names you could potentially roster on Sunday, Jokic should stand out the most. As mentioned, Minnesota will be without KAT, which means that the Joker will likely be matched up with an undersized James Johnson, who has been starting at the five over the last few games. Look for things to get out of hand here, at least they should, and it's not out of the question to assume that Jokic could put up numbers beyond his value.

Hassan Whiteside - C, vs. DET ($9,000)

The Pistons no longer have Andre Drummond in the middle, so expect them to pay the price in this one as a result. Whiteside has flourished since arriving in Portland and is fresh off a monster double-double against the Pelicans on Friday that included 19 points, 12 boards, and a massive six blocks.
