Week 13 Wide Receivers - Waiver Wire Pickups and Adds

Kyle Richardson's recommended fantasy football wide receiver waiver wire pickups for Week 13. These are your free agent fantasy WRs to add, and potential PPR sleepers to stash in 2018.

We have one more week till the playoffs are here! Well, for most leagues that is. If you need a win in Week 13 and will need to stream a wide receiver or even need someone with a good matchup during the playoffs, let’s look at some of the hot options heading into Week 13.

Instead of going in depth on a few players, we are going to quick hit many options this week that you should keep your eye on. Not all options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one size fits all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Check here for a complete list of our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 13 for help at all the skill positions. As always, RotoBaller has you covered!

Front Runners for Week 13 - Wide Receiver Additions

This group consists of wide receivers that I would recommend adding if they are available on your waiver wire. Some are more viable for PPR formats, so take note of that. These players have either earned a greater workload due to injury/performance issues or have shown that they can be weekly contributors to their NFL teams. All players listed have 50% or less ownership levels across fantasy leagues.

Adam Humphries, TB - 30% owned

Adam Humphries has been a dark horse in this article, then progressed to in the running before falling out with the switch back to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Now we move him to the top tier as a front-runner because that connection with Jameis Winston is real and probably shouldn’t go anywhere anytime soon. Over his last four games, Humphries has four touchdowns to go with 249 yards on 24 receptions. Humphries is the clear WR2 in Tampa Bay now. Next week Humphries gets the Carolina Panthers who he just burned three weeks ago for 82 yards on eight catches and two touchdowns. Another solid play coming up!

Dante Pettis, SF - 1% owned

Let’s welcome Dante Pettis with his first appearance in this article for the season. Marquise Goodwin missed Week 12 after a serious family emergency required him to make the trip back home. Since Pierre Garcon also missed the game while dealing with an injury, it was time for Pettis to finally have his breakout performance, catching four balls for 77 yards while finding the end zone one time. If Goodwin misses multiple weeks, Pettis could continue to see this type of value. Tougher matchups lie ahead with Seattle and Denver on the schedule soon, but San Francisco’s defense will continue to be bad always allowing for Pettis to have value in negative game script.

David Moore, SEA - 10% owned

The first time I mentioned David Moore in the weekly waiver wire series, I had him listed as a touchdown-dependent grab if you were dealing with injuries or bye weeks. Moore showed me a receiver with a decent ceiling but extremely low floor if he didn’t find the end zone. After having four touchdowns in three games, he disappeared with 89 yards in three games and no touchdowns. Moore finally found the end zone this past weekend but also brought a nice helping of volume with him. Moore had a season-high 104 receiving yards on four catches which included a key fourth down touchdown to tie the game. That was the type of reception that earns the trust of your quarterback and earns more opportunities moving forward. Moore will get a nice matchup next week against San Francisco before finding your bench against the Vikings in Week 14. Now is the time to take another shot at Moore with Doug Baldwin banged up again and Russell Wilson playing his best football of the season.

In the Running for Week 13 - Wide Receiver Additions

This group consists of wide receivers widely available on the waiver wire who aren't must-adds but could be worth stashing or streaming if the above options are already taken or if you are dealing with injuries.

Bruce Ellington, DET - 2% owned

Here is a guy for all of you PPR owners that could use a flex play during the end of season run. The Lions are not a very good football team despite some impressive wins on the season and based on the schedule they have the rest of the year, I see plenty of negative game script opportunities ahead for Bruce Ellington and the Lions offense. Ellington hasn’t been spectacular, but he has six catches in every game with the Lions so far and plays an important role in the slot, which was vacated due to the trade of Golden Tate. Ellington could offer a safe, low, double-digit point total each week in case you need a last-second emergency play and should make it through waivers unclaimed this week. In the playoffs, I would rather play it safe then start taking risks.

Antonio Callaway, CLE - 9% owned

I made a promise a few weeks back that I wouldn’t write about Antonio Callaway again this season, but I lied. It’s hard to keep that promise when I see my guy putting together great weeks, and as the number one Antonio Callaway truther, I think I can celebrate those with a brief breakdown in one of my articles. Four receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals and it seems like every week the Browns continue to get better on offense. Baker Mayfield is the real deal and considering Jarvis Landry has basically disappeared, anyone can be the WR1 on any given week. We get to see how good the Browns offense is next week against the Texans with J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney in Mayfield’s face all game.

Dark Horses for Week 13 - Wide Receiver Additions

This group consists of wide receivers who need some more time to show us what they have but should be on our radar still. Don’t jump to add them yet, but another week or two could prove to be fruitful.

Trey Quinn, WSH - 10% owned

Trey Quinn was listed as a dark horse candidate last week as well and will make the list again as another PPR play. Touchdown last week against the Cowboys turned an underwhelming performance into more, but he could very well be the healthiest receiver in Washington right now. He will now get an Eagles defense that has trouble stopping the pass and is missing almost all their cornerbacks that are rostered. This should be a juicy enough matchup that you could add and start him right away. The sample size is small, but if Quinn can see his targets continue to climb (four two weeks ago and six last week) he becomes an extremely safe play on an offense that needs playmakers.

Curtis Samuel, CAR - 9% owned

This guy is all over the field and rightly so. He is a playmaker, and we may finally see his role in this offense taking shape. Curtis Samuel has four total touchdowns over his last four games and even though he doesn’t rack up a ton of volume, the Panthers always seems to find a few situations that allow him to succeed and offer fantasy value. His ceiling will be high every week with abilities to make plays out in the open as a receiver or running back. Carolina has a favorable schedule coming up that could allow even more opportunities for Samuel, especially if Devin Funchess misses any more time.
