FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/8/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We're back to a large Tuesday slate, which is headlined by a game between the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels in Colorado. It's tough to get away from that game, and it should feature plenty of runs. There are multiple ways to construct lineups tonight, though, and I hope to take you through a few of them.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/8/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Aaron Nola - P, vs SF ($10,100)

Nola has looked outstanding through seven starts, recording a 4-1 record, 2.17 ERA, and 0.92 WHIP. He also features a 6.9 K/9 to go along with a 0.4 HR/9 this season. He gets a decent matchup against the San Francisco Giants, who are coming off a tough outing in Philly. Nola is currently a -188 favorite in a game set at only 7.5 runs, making him one of the best options on the slate.

Rich Hill - P, vs ARI ($7,300)

Hill has struggled quite a bit this season, but he simply is not going to stay this cheap for long. He is far too good of a pitcher to continue to struggle at this rate. He also gets a good matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have the third highest strikeout per at-bat on the slate. Hill is a -130 favorite in a game set at only 7.5 runs. He certainly comes with risk, but makes an outstanding option for his low price tag.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

John Hicks - C/1B, at TEX ($2,800)

Hicks continues to play at a high level, as he's hitting over .300 with a slugging percentage north of .600 and an OPS over 1.000 over his last 10 games. He has displayed a tremendous combination of consistency and upside over that span, as well. He gets a good matchup against Mike Minor, and Hicks hits left-handed pitching well. He has recorded 0.049 wOBA and 0.089 ISO differentials against lefties, and Hicks can be used in all leagues.

Asdrubal Cabrera - 2B, at CIN ($3,900)

Cabrera has looked outstanding this season, and that has been the case over his last 10 games. Over that span, he's hitting .300 with five extra-base hits and nine RBIs. He has been a better hitter on the road this season, recording a .345 average with a .621 slugging percentage and a 1.030 OPS. He gets a solid matchup against Luis Castillo, and Cabrera can be used in all leagues.

Nolan Arenado - 3B, vs LAA ($5,100)

Arenado gets a matchup against a left-handed pitcher that struggles with home runs in Colorado. What more could you want? Arenado is hitting over .400 at home this season, and he is an elite hitter against left-handed pitching. This is somewhat of a matchup made in Heaven for Arenado, and he's an elite option in all leagues.

Trevor Story - SS, vs LAA ($3,800)

Story is another powerful bat for the Rockies that hits left-handed pitching well. He's hitting over .300 at home, and he has also displayed significantly more power at home this season. Story features 0.077 wOBA and 0.075 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching. He's an elite option against Andrew Heaney tonight.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Mike Trout - OF, at COL ($5,900)

Trout playing in Colorado is dangerous. He's also going in on fire, as he's hitting .412 with a .794 slugging percentage and a 1.350 OPS over his last 10 games. Over that span, he has seven extra-base hits, six RBIs, and one steal. Colorado features one of the most hitter friendly stadiums in the MLB, and Trout is an elite option in all leagues, regardless of his price tag.

Adam Duvall - OF, vs NYM ($2,900)

Duvall has struggled with consistency this season, but he comes with tremendous upside. He gets a matchup against Jason Vargas, who has been arguably the worst pitcher in the MLB this season. Duvall features 0.059 wOBA and 0.05 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching, and he's an elite salary relief option in tournaments tonight.
